Illustration - The fourteenth chapter of Genesis.

Greetings, friends.

Today I want to present to you my work on the illustration for the fourteenth chapter of Genesis.

This is not an easy chapter in terms of understanding it for the reader and, even more so, for someone who decided to draw a picture that would show the events of this chapter.

I learned that this chapter of the bible can be divided into two parts.

The first part tells about the battle of nine kings, five against four, about the capture of Lot's nephew and the fact that Abraham went to save Lot, being in the thick of things.

Therefore, my first illustration will show a battle, a battle in which it is very difficult to understand where your ally is and where your enemy is.

Yes, it should be noted that Abraham came out of this situation with a significant profit, freeing his nephew and receiving many trophies in the form of gold and other valuable things.

As usual, I drew with pencils with graphite rods on a sheet of A5 paper.

Such a scene of hostilities is a war inside me, because I can’t say that I can draw people and horses, this is my stumbling block that I try to step over, and all the characters in the picture are people and a horse.

It took me a while to get my hands on the finished piece.

I had to change a lot in the course of work.

The most unpleasant thing happened when I, as it seemed to me, had already finished the work and, looking at the drawing, I realized that I was too carried away by the drawing and forgot about the proportions of the horse's legs, which looked unnatural, I had to change everything.

Thank God, in the end, after my war with a pencil and an eraser, I got what I wanted to see.
