Jeff Berwick Interviews Barry Cooper on Anarchast

in #dollarvigilante8 years ago (edited)

Jeff and I discuss smoking marijuana as a cop. How I almost lost my mind. How I snuck out of the United States. My current use of psychedelics. Police retaliation. My refugee status in Brazil. Anarchy. My current life in Mexico and the cartels. How I free prisoners as an expert witness.

MINNOWS! I need more of your love so send your upvotes and follow me. Peace and love.

About the author: Barry Cooper

"You may have seen him on the pages of Maxim, or during one of his many appearances on CNN, Fox News and Spike TV. He’s the cop who turned against the drug war. In American pop culture right now, there’s nobody quite like him. As one of the former top drug cops working the Texas highways, he was ferocious, bringing down hundreds of people for possessing even tiny amounts of an illegal substance. In his new life as an anti-prohibition crusader and activist filmmaker, he’s just as ferocious, but now it’s his former colleagues in law enforcement who are sweating his intimidating gaze…Cooper is on a mission to free America’s pot prisoners and take down the abusive cops he once sought to emulate. In the terminology of war, Barry is an insurgent, lobbing bombs into the fourth estate as his form of penance for all the people he put behind bars on drug offenses.” —True/Slant

Barry Cooper has received global attention by being reported in over 700 newspapers and magazines including Rolling Stones, High Times, a feature in Maxim Magazine and a front cover feature in Cannabis Culture Magazine and the Texas Observer. He has been a guest on numerous radio shows and every cable news channel including MSNBC Tucker Carlson, FOX Geraldo At Large, ABC I Caught, NBC Mike and Juliet Morning Show and NPR’s, This American Life. He has also appeared as drug and legal expert in five episodes of SPIKE TV’s reality show, MANSWERS. Barry recently starred with Woody Harrelson, 50 Cent, Eminem and Susan Sarandon in the anti drug war documentary, “How To Make Money Selling Drugs.” The movie features Barry freeing prisoners.

“Barry was even better than he says he was. He had a knack for finding drugs and made more arrests and more seizures than all of the other agents combined. He was probably the best narcotics officer in the state and maybe the country during his time with the task force.” –Tom Finley, Commander Permian Basin Drug Task Force

Recycling content like this will quickly get you off the radar of all whale bots

Hmmmm. That's odd because a whale just voted up this post and a different whale voted up my last post. Most of the people on Steem do not know me and I'm catching them up. The older content I am posting is timeless so it shouldn't matter. According to the comments and number of votes, people are digging my posts. Although I want all the bots I can get, my goal is to connect with my demographic and not the whales. I have also posted brand new content on my blog so no worries. I upvoted for advising me of this. Thanks.

Yah, I personally don't have a problem with it because I've never seen your stuff before.

But generally recycling content is frowned upon and I understand why -- if this platform is going to be really valuable there clearly needs to be unique content that you can't find elsewhere.

Hmmmmm. If this platform wants unique content, then I have found a home. Where else can you find content like mine? According to the movie producers who pay me each month for my life story rights, there is no other person with a story like mine. I am famous for the incredible and bizarre life I have lived. I am famous for being the only person in history who went from top narco to drug war insurgent who set stings to bust cops. I am also famous for teaching tips on how to not get busted for drugs. NeverGetBusted tips never stop working and the ones that do are updated. I am also a drug expert who works every day with defense lawyers to free drug prisoners. But as I stated, I will be producing new content. I have posted over a half a dozen brand new content pieces on this blog already. Is 200 votes in 2 hours considered good? That's a sincere question because I am new to this platform.

Nice!!! (to the throat)

@ntomaino A whale voted up this post. I'm glad I was right on this one but thanks for the challenge. Peace.

What is and isn't "good" is completely subjective.

STFU please, I will ask you nicely for this time only,
one time offer!!

I, obviously, endorse this message. :P

@dollarvigilante man your view looks sick!

@dollarvigilante waiting for you post too lets go

@dollarvigilante you mentioned trying stuff like Ayahuasca.
You should try Salvia Divinorum which is what shamens used..
Here is my experience of using it https://steemit.com/new/@stealthtrader/my-first-salvia-trip

I dont know who is that man, but he looks like a rock star

Just wanted to also say I very much enjoy your posts and interactions with the readers. Don't often see people taking the time to read through and even pore over the content of posts from people commenting on their post. I would be a fan if for that reason alone, you also have great content so I would be anyway :)

i wish he upvoted everyone who comments

Good idea. I'm going to start that habit now! Thanks.

Thanks clevecross. I get a lot of insight and warmth from my fans. I also know my fans are some of the smartest folks around. Big love for the nice comment.

I didn't know that marijuana is a lot safer than alcohol. I have never tried any of the drugs but yeah I drink a lot of alcohol. I think there must be something behind marijuana that every country's Goverment want it to ban. I don't know but it is not legal in my country. By the way nice post @barrycooper

I have never seen two people who were using marijuana get into a fist fight. Even when things got heated, before it could escalate, everyone would end up laughing and it would settle down. There is something about seeing someone angry when you are high, it just looks so funny. Alcohol on the other hand, seems to encourage violence.

I have no interest in professional wrestling. But I'd pay money to watch two people on dope trying to fight.

Some people react strongly to different forms of alcohol. And different people react differently.
I had a friend who could drink beer all day and never get aggressive. He was just easy going. But give him whiskey and he was a jackass. A cousin of mine was a mean drunk too. I just get goofy. :)
I've never seen someone aggressive on pot. Hrmm, I never thought about it before. But I'm not around a lot of people who smoke either.

You are saying that Alcohol causes more violence than marijuana. Well, i think the effect of using any one of them is the same. It is just the intensity and dosage giving us the violent results.

over 95 percent of all violent crimes are committed by persons under the influence of alcohol. Sorry funnyman but you are wrong on this one. Peace to you though.

This is because alcohol is more freely available than any other.

Nowhere have I come across any research that has pointed towards a connection between the intensity of cannabis and violence. Violent outbursts could somewhat be true depending upon the mental state of a person smoking cannabis with high THC content like giving strong cannabis to a schizophrenic but that wouldn't be the fault of cannabis, only the fault of giving a psychoactive drug to a mentally unwell individual.

The availability of alcohol doesn't matter. Looking at areas such as Colorado also proves there is no connection between cannabis dosage and violence.

yes, he is saying that and I think everyone will agree with that statement

it is illegal in your country because the US made - bribed or threatened - all others to sign onto the 1963 UN Single Convention Treaty. It is a sham. US control over everything.

I've known more than a few cops that believed MJ should be legal. Fingers crossed for Nevada this Fall!

Thanks man. I have absentee ballot ready just incase I don't make it back in time ;)

Funny :)

finally @barrycooper on The Anarchist with @dollarvigilante

Anachast was how you first came across my radar. But that’s true of almost everyone I follow on Steemit!

you have my minnow attention and upvote,
you can also add the #minnowsunite tag which is a way minnows have
to find minnows content, since you dont have whales on your side,
you could post there, maybe work out something with the minnows there.
you can also add #payitforward tag which is something @williambanks is organizing, pretty smart guy.

Also, I left a comment on your previous post, its hidden because I have a bad rep here for speaking truth to power.

I love your comments and advice. Speak your mind here anytime.

@barrycooper I still have about 10 minutes left but I agree about the feeding the world comment you just made.. I was just talking to my wife about Venezuela and how cryptocurrency could help us donate to them, because it would be hard to actually send food to, but we could immediately send something like bitcoin or even Steem Dollars to help them buy food.

How would that help?
There is not a shortage of money in Venezuela, there is a shortage of food
because the Elite in Venezuela is performing a soft coup.
