Is it possible to make a modern bass guitar "on the knee"? Good question. It turns out that you can. I did it without leaving my apartment.

Вы когда-нибудь видели призрак гитары? Думаю, что он перед вами. Но немного предыстории. Это было 15-20 лет назад. Точнее не скажу. Уже не помню. Сын увлёкся игрой на гитаре и я решил сделать ему подарок. Я с детства делаю подарки своими руками. Так меня научили родители и школа.
Все фотографии сделаны на камеру "мыльницу". Я даже не помню её название. Копаясь сегодня в архивах, я их случайно обнаружил. Попытки редактирования изображений дали сомнительные результаты. Тогда я просто сделал их "жёсткими".
Зачем-то я периодически снимал процесс создания этой гитары. И сейчас я хочу вам его показать.
Have you ever seen the ghost of a guitar? I think that he is in front of you. But a little background. That was 15-20 years ago. I won’t say more precisely. I don’t remember anymore. My son became interested in playing the guitar and I decided to give him a present. Since childhood, I have been making gifts with my own hands. This is what parents and school taught me.
All photos are taken on the camera "soap box". I don’t even remember her name. Digging in the archives today, I accidentally discovered them. Attempts to edit images gave dubious results. Then I just made them stiff.
For some reason, I periodically filmed the process of creating this guitar. And now I want to show you it.
У меня нет специального цеха. Нет даже просто мастерской. Я пробовал работать и на чердаке, но соседи с этим не согласились. Ножёвка, рубанок, ручной фрезерный станок, струпцины... Много шума и пыли. Но мне хотелось сделать подарок сыну.
I do not have a special workshop. There is not even just a workshop. I tried to work in the attic, but the neighbors did not agree with this. Hacksaw, plane, manual milling machine, scrubs ... A lot of noise and dust. But I wanted to give a gift to my son.
Самым сложным оказалось изготовить гриф. Нужен правильный расчёт и точная работа. Я не показываю технологию и это не мастер-класс. Здесь просто показ того ббезумия, что я устроил из своей комнаты. Я не знаю, где черпала терпение моя жена. Иногда я работал даже на кухне.
The most difficult turned out to be the neck. We need the right calculation and accurate work. I do not show technology and this is not a master class. Here is just a show of the insanity that I arranged from my room. I do not know where my wife found patience. Sometimes I even worked in the kitchen.
Тем временем отдельные детали появлялись на свет и собирались вместе.
Meanwhile, individual details came into being and came together.
Я вошёл в образ и даже начал делать второй гриф для следующей гитары... В конце концов всё закончилось на этой. У неё оказался хороший сустейни приличное звучание. Выдающегося инструмента не получилось. Это был пятиструнный безладовый бас с длинным грифом. Я с трудом подобрал для него струны. Сейчас эта гитара находится у меня в качестве сувенира. Её струны ушли на другую гитару, но она ещё может работать по своему назначению. При условии установки струн, конечно.
Вот такая история.
I entered the image and even started making the neck for the next guitar ... In the end, it all ended on this one. She turned out to have good sustain and decent sound. An outstanding tool did not work. It was a five-string fretless bass with a long neck. I hardly picked up strings for him. Now this guitar is with me as a souvenir. Her strings went to another guitar, but she can still work as intended. Provided that the strings are installed, of course.

Какого труда? Кто сказал, что гитара не ударный инструмент? Может и сработать по назначению. Я так понимаю, что она увесистая! 😂
