A Leuser Green Leaf

That afternoon, Leuser withered the sun
the wind brings black dust in April
questionable, worried, with a hint of hope
cling to dry leaves
the stalk was as fragile as honesty
in the mouths of election season politicians

For the first time I saw a fresh green leaf
fell on my lashes with a smile the first night
fall off the heart because the leaves come from a dark past
then the green bloom on the lashes
become the sun in the Leuser jungle trail

Green leaves do not take root
off the lashes before the desert darkens
related to the past
be the root of the future

Paintings hanging on virtual walls
us, them, the aroma of coffee
and a past that is burning with hope
people enjoy with notes
paint the word in one sigh
either from the heart or lip service

But for us the painting becomes the root
thrives with lush leaves
smothered in sweat and tears
then the seeds of love
spread out in the pulse of the body
when the ascent reaches its peak

Sehelai Daun Hijau Leuser

Sore itu Leuser meranggas dibakar matahari
angin membawa debu hitam di bulan April
penuh tanya, risau, bercampur sedikit harapan
melekat pada daun-daun kering
tangkainya serapuh kejujuran
di mulut politisi musim pemilu

Untuk pertama kali aku melihat sehelai daun hijau segar
jatuh di bulu mataku dengan senyuman malam pertama
rontoklah hati karena daun datang dari masa lalu yang samar
lalu merekah hijau di bulu mata
menjadi matahari dalam jalan setapak rimba Leuser

Daun hijau tak sampai mengakar
lepas dari bulu mata sebelum gelap gurun
bersurai dengan masa lalu
menjadi akar bagi masa depan

Lukisan tergantung di dinding maya
kita, mereka, aroma kopi
dan masa lalu yang terbakar harapan
orang menikmati dengan catatan
melukis kata dalam satu hela
entah dari hati atau basa-basi

Tapi bagi kita lukisan itu menjadi akar
tumbuh subur dengan daun rimbun
disiram keringat dan air mata
lalu benih-benih cinta
terburai di denyut raga
tatkala pendakian sampai pada puncaknya
