Teatime snack idea
Sometimes we have a craving for something delicious to go with tea or coffee but we run out of ideas on what to make. We would like a delicious baked something, but something that won't be too time consuming to make. This mostly happens on a day when you're just at home with the family. Every Sunday afternoon, in my home, we're all off from work or school. Sundays are usually our relaxing family day. We have an early lunch and as soon as the clock hits 4pm, we all crave tea with some sort of goodie! My mum makes this delicious scone like treat with icing on top and it takes her a quick amount of time to make it. Everyone loves it and looks forward to it. I will be sharing the recipe below:
Ingredients:
- 1/4 lb butter
- 2 cups flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tblsp sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
Mix all the dry ingredients together. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and milk together. Then mix it into the dry ingredients to form a dough. Separate the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a medium thin long straw, then twist it about twice. Bake it in the oven until it is cooked through. When cooled down, dip the top part into some icing and enjoy.
Icing:
- Icing sugar
- Milk
If there is a photo of course more interesting.
I am curious how it looks
