Hello STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE Community

What is your indigenous language, is it your country's official language and can your kids speak the language?

I live in India and our indigenous main language is Hindi. We also call Hindi our mother tongue. People of many religions and cultures live in India and all know their own language and are comfortable with it.

But Hindi is such a language which people of all religions know and speak. Of course, Hindi is the official language of our country and it is the identity of our culture.

We celebrate 14 September as Hindi Diwas. In which great poets are honored and we pay tribute to the creations made by them. The great poets who are no longer present among us. Tribute is paid to them. In the world of Hindi language, we will always remember the works of these great creators Kalidas, Tulsidas, Surdas, Kabirdas, even today the creations written by these great poets are taught in our syllabus in schools.

Hindi language is made from Devanagari script. Hindi language is taught in schools as literature and grammar. Due to which the child gets complete knowledge of Hindi language's alphabets, sentences, word formation, letters, tenses etc. Our children listen to and understand Hindi language right from their birth. Hindi language is not very easy to speak or write, because special attention has to be paid to its vowels.

What are some of your country's traditions and how do you preserve them orally?

As I told you that people of different religions live in our country India and all have their own traditions, which are unique in themselves. I respect all traditions very much. Be it of any religion or culture. Ganga Jamuna culture is very important in our country. Here everyone participates in each other's celebrations and is keen to see each other's traditions. Many festivals are celebrated in our country. Many stories are prevalent with them, many customs are prevalent. Which we all enjoy together with our family members.

Traditional Holi festival of our country

In the festival of Holi, we celebrate our happiness by applying gulal color. The main dish of Holi is Gujiya. It is celebrated with great joy. Holi is lit a day before the colours.

The wood is lit and worship is done before lighting it. Then they take a round of it and bring sugarcane, coconut shell, moong gram ear, etc. roasted in it. This is how this festival is celebrated.

Janmashtami festival

In this festival, the birth of Lord Shri Krishna is celebrated . Whether it is a house or a temple of Lord Krishna. Everywhere, the birthday of the Lord is celebrated with great pomp. The Lord is placed in a cradle and swung. 56 types of offerings are offered at the feet of the Lord. The atmosphere is filled with devotion with very sweet bhajans and only one thing comes out of the mouth.

Wow, it's interesting to know the language you speak. I've come across series of languages as such but I barely know how to even say a greeting in them, probably I've not really put my mind into it. Thanks for sharing. I'm impressed though.

Hi ma'am it's good to learn about your indigenous language Hindi, since it's your official language too I believe children will learn it unconsciously. Thanks for sharing some of your traditions with us, success!
