The Easiest Thing You Could Do to Help the Cause Today
Roughly 30 seconds of your time and a few clicks of the mouse could have a huge impact on the way our philosophy is viewed by the world!
One of the most common phrases I see Voluntarists and Anarchists leaving as a comment on statist's social media posts is "Google Voluntaryism". Although I prefer the spelling "voluntarism", an interesting thing happens when you actually search "voluntaryism" in Google.
The first result that appears as the featured snippet is from a 2011 blog post entitled, "The Voluntaryist Delusion". This clearly could create a skeptical or pessimistic first impression of voluntarist principles.
Google claims that these postings are generated "programmatically" and that they don't manually generate the result.
Fortunately, Google has a feature where you can report the featured snippet for a variety of reasons. One of those reasons is that the snippet is "misleading or inaccurate".
All you have to do is go to Google, search "voluntaryism", and report the featured snippet. You can even leave a constructive comment or suggestion if you feel so inclined.
Obviously, Google is a private company and free to present information as they please. We're not asking for the government to come in and regulate their business under threat of violence and this isn't an attempt to hinder free speech. Simply, we are using the tools Google offers it's users to provide feedback for a better and more accurate search engine. Let's see how receptive they are to our concerns.
Let's help them get it right on Voluntaryism and improve the image of our cause at the same time!
I do this every month or so. Every few years we manage to get it taken down, but its always back up shortly afterward.
Try cannibalism, human sacrifice or any other horrific concept and it gets a fair, accurate result.
This can't be accidental.
