Szpiglasowy Wierch (Poland)steemCreated with Sketch.

Hi Steemians!

I will take you this time to Szpiglasowy Wierch (2172 m a.s.l.). Version of the route from the side of valley of the Five Polish Ponds, and we will be coming back next to Morskie Oko. My trip from 19 July 2014. I invite you for a short relation.

First we have to get to the Five Polish Ponds Valley. As usual in this area, I start to walk from the parking lot Palenica Białczańska. The route is long, but very nice scenic. It took me over 10 hours to walk 23 kilometers both ways, with breaks to rest, eat and photograph. I start as always around 6 am. I recommend the route in the summer because of the length of the day. In winter, the approach to Szpiglasowy Wierch from this side, after the northern steep slope, is difficult and dangerous.

After getting the Valley of Five Polish Ponds, we have to follow the blue and yellow trail to walk around the Great Polish Pond (first photo). After a long stretch of straight terrain we begin to quickly go up and the trail gets steep as in the photo above. This is the most tiring stage of my trip. Just before entering the Szpiglasowa pass, there are several safeguards - chains. However, everyone should cope with them. Gloves are worth having. The trail is generally rather safe.

Managed to! We are at the top, above the view of the Świnica peak, which is on the other side of the Five Polish Ponds Valley. Below Zadni Staw Polski is visible, it is located at an altitude of 1890 m a.s.l. It is the second reservoir in terms of high, Poland. Unfortunately, the weather that day was not the best. It was hot and there were more clouds every hour. I had to hurry to make it before the storm. Remember that storms in the mountains are very dangerous!

Going down the other way, we see in the valley Morskie Oko (the largest lake in the Tatras), and on the right Czarny Staw pod Rysami and high in the clouds the highest peak of Poland - Rysy. I will be going down the trail visible in this photo. It is much simpler and completely safe. So who would like to get the Szpiglasowy Wierch fairly easily, I recommend the way from Morskie Oko. Without chains. The trail here is a wide, nice path. So I chose the version: harder uphill, easier downhill.

I am already much lower and this is how the duo of Tatra lakes looks beautiful: Morskie Oko and Czarny Staw pod Rysami. The stream flowing from Czarny Staw is also clearly visible. The weather even maintained, but it is very hot and stuffy. At the top of Szpiglasowy Wierch, due to the high altitude, it was cool (around 20 degrees Celsius). Going down, I feel how the temperature is rising rapidly and is around 28 degrees Celsius.

I go to a crowded hostel at Morskie Oko. Unfortunately, there are a lot of people here in summer. Fortunately, the higher, the fewer people. I recommend to you Szpiglasowy Wierch as a fairly easy and safe peak in the High Tatras. The road from Morskie Oko is particularly easy. For experienced ones, I recommend a more demanding path from the valley of the Five Polish Ponds. Greetings to all those who love mountains!
