Important Religious Festival for Buddhists
Today I am going to talk about a very important religious festival for Buddhists. That is the Vesak Poya. This Poya is celebrated in the month of May every year. The reason why this Poya is important to the Buddhists is that the special occasions of Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and Pirinivan take place on this Poya day.
How we celebrated Vesak in 2019
So with the dawn of this month, all Buddhists are getting ready for this religious festival. Buddhists will be held this religious festival in two ways. That is engaging in religious activities and celebrating physically. Engaging in religious activities means going to the temple or will be held poojas to the Buddha from home. Physical celebration is the decoration of houses and roads with light-giving creations such as Vesak lanterns, lanterns, etc. It is believed that this means using light to worship the Buddha. (It's just an opinion).
So this year too, as in other years, this festival is celebrated in our home. Today I have prepared the bamboo sticks for the Vesak lanterns. Vesak lanterns are made by my father and decorated by our sister using papers of different colors.
