He looks happy despite his eye patch. He must feel confidant because his hands are behind his back.
I like the half black and half white background and where you captured the man. Everything in the photo seems to have a square or rectangular theme - the eye patch, his shirt, socks, shorts, the walls....etc. Very nice.
