Posting controversial stuff!

in #goviral5 years ago

Want to create a really BIG buzz out there to make you posts go viral?  Remember it is a two-way edge sword you are wielding! Maybe more fuss that you can handle?!

There are different levels of controversy:

  1. Shock tactics: Saying or showing stuff to achieve attention.
  2. Taboo subjects: Crudeness, sexual relationships, swearing and direct offensive abuse.
  3. And debatable concepts: Rational and valid facts to create awareness.

Shock tactics:

This is used in your headline title to get attention, using unique bizarre words, topics and ways to make your posts instantly clickable.

Taboo subjects:

This is like, a dog barking up at a tree with a leopard looking down at you. You never know how many leopards are up there (on the internet) that could leap down on you and gobble you up!!

It’s safer to go with debatable concepts:

This will likely create utter surprise and rational dramatic responses.

Worried about offending people?

There is a great change of some people rejecting what you say. So if you tend to cry and get hurt easily, don’t go where angels fear to trend!

  • Don’t rant and rave about your hobbyhorse, just for the sake of getting attention.
  • Don’t allow your passion to run away with you into erroneous deep-end avenues.
  • And avoid propaganda agendas. Know the laws governing your topic.
  • Think carefully before making a fool of yourself.

Consider:

Before preparing and posting your blog or cartoon image:

  1. How will it improve people’s lives?
  2. How will people relate to it?
  3. Will it `sink your ship’ (ie your good reputation)?
  4. How will you come out of it, in the end? Smelling of roses or mud on your face?
  5. Consider how many people will appreciate you bringing up that particular topic?

Credibility should be your shield:

Don’t push beyond your boundaries. Do more research on your topic before writing up and posting your blog or image!

You may have missed some important facts. And the more info you have, you’ll be able to respond easily to comments, objections and questions that may come up.

Be careful how you construct your sentences. Consider people’s feelings on the subject. Attack a concept, not a person!

Benefits of being controversial:

  1. Controversy makes people think more effectively and compare facts and issues.
  2. It brings about learning curves that can change and improve people’s actions, talents and lifestyles.
  3. If there are topics or questions people have had problems with in the past, they can judge for themselves which is the best action to take in the future.
  4. If you post points out something most people have experienced sometime or other, you can give them a chance to laugh at the silly things people do and can relate to.
  5. You can promote your product or business, by making people aware of the need to purchase your goods. Considering of cause, your product is the best option to obtain.
  6. It brings more connective links to your website and blogs. People will follow you because they know your posts are very dynamic, interesting and entertaining.

Thank you. But I sometimes wonder if I'm wasting my time and effort... in the type of stuff I post! And with your kind words, perhaps there is hope yet, that I've help someone along the way.

Very useful writing, my friend. Your suggestion is very good. But frankly I find it difficult to find unique things here to post. Besides, I am not skilled at writing. I hope your writing can motivate me in writing. Thank you friend. Have a nice day.

When we are at school they say it's wise to write stories about things you know and have experiences personally. But often we think we can't write anything interesting because we think our own lives are boring. Not so. We all live under different circumstances, and so other people would like to know more about lifestyles they don't live themselves.

@artguru you always write 📝 a true story about the people who don't paperwork and not judge their minds your thoughts are different in the world. Everyone likes you and your post. You correct say that Before preparing and posting your blog or cartoon image:

How will it improve people’s lives?
How will people relate to it?
Will it `sink your ship’ (ie your good reputation)?
How will you come out of it, in the end? Smelling of roses or mud on your face?

Great thinking and great opinion.

So glad you appreciate what I write.
I love to get people thinking about what they read.
And even greater impact, if they can get WOW-moment concepts that change their world for the better.

Good pointers. I tend to do that a lot, when I mess up with politics.
It is hard not to be controversial when you reveal the lies of the establishment or provide critical angles for people to consider.
Official news will always show a rosy picture in totalitarian regimes. Threats and slef-censorship (cowardice?) prevail.
One unfortunate thing about posting things that, even if honest, just, and accurate, hurt interest and ideologies is that you get demonized and become a target.
Here on Steemit we have flags and now the downvote.

We live in such frustrating and desperate times. I understand it's hard not to complain and try to put things right. But it's how we do it, that counts!
