Playing with Filters: How I Made Selfie Art

Yesterday I mentioned I wasn't able to go out even after I was dressed up and ready to go. I just didn't feel like it, plus it was raining so I cancelled the meet up with my cousin.

What to do then right? What a waste of dressing up and make up eh? Oh but no, I took several selfies so it all won't go to waste. And then guess what else I did? I played with the pics. Hahaha!

❤️ The Process

Of course it all starts with yesterday's selfie... Several selfies in fact. I wasn't too happy with how I looked in some of them so I decided to make good use of a few.

At first I only posted some selfie art on my Instagram/Facebook yesterday but then I saw the Art Explosion contest of Juliakponsford and voila! Finally, some new art! Hahaha!

The images you will see next are definitely not my vanity portraits. 😂 It's more of an art expression for the contest theme: Masks.

How apt can the theme be to my situation yesterday right? Haha. This is why today is the perfect time to make some art.

So earlier, I decided to use a dull selfie. I checked several stickers in Pixlr and chose those I could use as a mask. I selected six stickers then I added a color filter, cropped it and added a border... Voila!

Like my digital mask? 😂 What does this remind you of? Haha.

So much better than this one below eh? Hahaha.

Adding one sticker to my face doesn't mean it's a mask already. We must be fun and creative and not boring...

Now that I've got the mask down pat, time for more fun. You will see in the video below that I add and remove plenty of filters/effects to make art!

To share the creation process, I used my phone's screen recorder. I recorded my clicking on the redo and undo buttons on Pixlr after I was done with each artwork. Then I used InShot to combine the clips together and add some music/watermark. I posted the video on DTube earlier but you can also watch below. 😊

Now that you've seen the video, you now have the answer to how I made these selfie filter art. Basically, to make artwork like I do, you just have to mix and match filters, stickers and effects in Pixlr.

I just love mixing things up you know. No more reason to wonder why my posts are so random, okay? Hahaha. Also, you should get it now, why it took a while for me to get over my stolen phone. I mean, all those hi-res art files!!! Fuuu! (>_<)

❤️ The Artwork in Various Art Styles

So, what artwork was I able to create, you might ask. You've seen the video, now here are the artwork.
_{Off topic: Seriously, I should make a new Wordpress blog, get my own domain, and then use Steempress already. 😥 But it costs $100 a year so uhmmm... 😂 Ah priorities. 😅}

First artwork I'd like to show you is this one. This is more of a nice abstract visually appealing (?) not-a-self-portrait art. 😄 (Maybe I should print this out, frame it and sell it somewhere so more people can see it. Hahaha.)

Anyway, because I wanted to play with the above image some more... here it is with a cool triplicating filter + +.

I mean, seriously, who has a birthday today? 😂😂😂

❤️ Selfie Art Collage

After doing several more artwork, hey it seemed like I was still on a roll. I haven't done anything artistic for two weeks or so you know.

Look, I made some collage too! Oh what fun! 😂

I just used several of the artwork I did, chose a layout style and voila!

So tell me, what do you see?

Do you think, after reading this, you can make some selfie art too? Haha. It's just fun to play around with mobile apps. There's another app that can make parts of a pic move but it doesn't allow me to save it unless I upload it so nah...
