Why can't the memory of evil change humanity? What is the memory for?
(anonymous)

(Anonimo)

I was inside my house, with my children.
That day I had cooked a soup with potatoes and small pieces of chicken.
the children were happy, it was a rarity because of the war.
My husband had been taken by three men from the Ministry of War, a few days before, advised me to stay calm, not to worry because he would return.
Soon.

The three of us sat down, when suddenly they knocked on the door.
I got up from the chair.
I went to open and two people with a German accent told me that I had to go with them.
I tried to ask why and where I should go.
They will reach her husband on the train, they told me.
I understood.

I told my older child to continue eating, otherwise the soup would get cold, and I would return.
Soon.
We left the house, I with my cardboard suitcase and headed for the station.

Hundreds of people queuing in silence.
Someone was crying, without tears.
We could hear some timid sobs in a child's cry and immediately scream in German of reproach.
I waited in line.
I left my suitcase near the chair next to my children.
I left.

an embrace of hope

Qualcuno piangeva, senza lacrime.
Aspettai in fila.
Partii.

un abbraccio di speranza

thank you so much @livvu

Bellissimi colori!!!

This work is beautiful. It's more beautiful to imagine myself receiving someone than saying goodbye there.

Thanks for the comment dear friend a hug

I love art that has narrative and this so does @armandosodano with the empty chair and case, I love it. I'm also obsessed with chairs :)
