An incomparable foreshortening, three arches, the main Gothic one and the two interiors Romanesque.
A charm of history that is repeated in Italian and sometimes French cities.
Our history, our traditions summarized in a simple opening.

We talk about the Gothic these days for the disaster of Notre-Dame, patience can be reconstructed.
The problem is when in our consciences we forget our past, erasing it with neglect and indifference, then we can say that everything becomes useless.
Let us always remove the traditions that have formed popular cultures, rituals, customs, ancient languages, historical and architectural models.

Why lose an ancient and so austere elegance?
Lose forever an ancient building where stones take shape and they themselves become pictorial composition, gladdening the view with their irregular and time-worn forms.

An elapsed time in which even the stones have their story, visually testify to their dignity and that of the men who ordered them, carefully placed to support the walls.

Men have designed and built huge sci-fi and priceless cathedrals, but also small jewels of apparent simplicity, imbued with that value that only ancient architecture can make the best of.

A small work of art, abandoned to the neglect of time, where memory tries to protect it, while the weather has been trying to destroy for 500 years.
Slowly, but inexorably.

But the bread window is solid, indestructible, like bread, a symbol of passion and life.
Now he is there, abandoned with a poor old woman who tries to revive her with a few pots of plants.
Dignity that goes beyond the space of indifference towards a building that has been great, and noble, but that now has only the charm of the past.
Fires are not enough, sensitivity is needed.

Un antica apertura del XIV secolo, sopra un'altra finestra che dona luce ad una cantina con grate in ferro arrugginito.

Uno scorcio ineguagliabile, tre archi, gotico quello principale e romanici i due interni.
Un fascino della storia che si ripete nelle città italiane e talvolta francesi.
La nostra storia, le nostre tradizioni riassunte in una semplice apertura.

Del Gotico ne parliamo in questi giorni per il disastro di Notre-Dame, pazienza si può ricostruire.
Il problema è quando nelle nostre coscienze dimentichiamo il nostro passato, cancellandolo con l'incuria e l'indifferenza, allora possiamo dire che tutto diventa inutile.
Depenniamo per sempre le tradizioni che hanno formato culture popolari, i riti, le usanze, le lingue antiche, i modelli storici e architettonici.

Perchè perdere un eleganza antica e così austera?
Perdere per sempre una antica costruzione dove prendono forma le pietre ed esse stesse diventano composizione pittorica, allietando la vista con le loro forme irregolari e consumate dal tempo.

Un tempo trascorso in cui anche le pietre hanno il loro racconto, testimoniano visivamente la loro dignità e quella degli uomini che le hanno ordinate, poste in maniera attenta per sostenere le mura.

Gli uomini hanno progettato e costruito enormi cattedrali fantascientifiche e inestimabili, ma anche piccoli gioielli dalla semplicità apparente, intrise di quel valore che solo l'architettura antica può rendere al meglio.

Una piccola opera d'arte, abbandonata all'incuria del tempo, dove la memoria tenta di proteggerla, mentre il tempo atmosferico prova da 500 anni a distruggere.
Lentamente, ma inesorabilmente.

Ma la finestra del pane è solida, indistruttibile, come il pane, simbolo di passione e di vita.
Ora si trova lì, abbandonata con una povera vecchia che tenta di ravvivarla con pochi vasi di piante.
Dignità che travalica lo spazio dell'indifferenza verso un edificio che è stato grande, e nobile, ma che adesso ha solo il fascino del tempo passato.
Non bastano gli incendi, ci vuole la sensibilità.
Un abbraccio triste.
