The Australian Government is looking to pass legislation that will completely undermine your online privacy and digital security.
ASS Access will destroy online privacy and security and turn Australia into a Police State.
It will undermine trust in both tech companies and the Australian government.
We have seen in the US how intelligence agencies can be politicised and misused, even with judicial oversight (Trump FISA warrants).
Without proper judicial oversight this Bill will take Australia further down the road of being a police state.
It will cause tech companies to avoid Australia.
And it is completely unnecessary, and like so much of these new anti-terror laws punishes the innocent ordinary Australian and misses the terrorists.
Criminals and terrorists will use technologies and services outside Australia’s control which will continue to provide strong encryption.
Ordinary people who use the services of the big tech companies with Australian presence will have their security and online privacy undermine for no real benefit.

Its quite ironic, but Israel has far less draconian laws on these issues and no restriction on use of encryption or requirements for tech companies to provide backdoors etc. See https://academic.oup.com/idpl/article/2/4/277/676924
Given that Israel is under a much greater level of threat, it shows that such draconian laws are completely unnecessary to provide security to citizens.

Yes but the idea that people should have to even protest about laws like this being implemented is the travesty of democracy.
They aren't protesting in the street because most won't even have heard about it or realise the implications if they have.
