This was quite an unique and interesting challenge so I decided to give it a try.
The challenge requires participants to answer the question:
The question is: How would you explain a newbie the Reputation System in a creative way?
The way that @modernpastor answered the question with Goku (DragonBallz) was very creative and interesting.
I also used DragonBallz characters to represent my posts on Steem Power, so I felt @modernpastor's post were very creative and funny in a good way.
I am also a DragonBallz fan and so is my brother. So I have also decided to use DragonBallz characters to explain the Reputation System. However, I will be using my brother's old drawings to explain it. My brother also likes drawing DragonBallz fanart, but he is very busy lately, hence I felt this contest was a great way to showcase his old artworks.

My understanding of the Reputation System
I am still quite new to Steemit so I am not fully aware of how the reputation system works. However, I will explain it based on my experience. In essence, the Reputation System, as the name suggests is a measure of your "Reputation".
If you have a high reputation, there is a higher chance that people will read your content and upvote it and vice versa.
In general, if you create valuable and interesting content/posts on Steemit and people appreciate it by upvoting it, then your reputation will start rising. On the other side, if you perform actions which are not in line with Steemit's values, such as spamming comments and posts, plagiarizing, impersonating people etc, your reputation will decrease.
If I could explain the reputation system in one picture, and this is probably directed to "DragonBallz" fans, it would be the drawing below:

Reputation System Explained
This drawing was created by my brother. The size of the drawing is actually A3, he needed more space and combined 2 pieces of A4 paper to draw this.
This drawing essentially shows the life stage of the main characters "Goku" and "Gohan" from when they were kids till they were Super Saiyan 1, 2, and so on.
Hence, this is essentially the way the reputation system works. As you "train more and train frequently" - create more valuable content on a consistent basis, you will eventually gain more reputation and become "Super Saiyan" and level up as a "Super Saiyan".
I edited his drawing slightly below - thought it would give a different effect.
More Detailed Explanation
Lets now go through the different stages of the reputation system. I will be using my brother's drawing to explain so that it is more fun to follow, hopefully :)
Reputation: 25 -39
You just registered an account with Steemit and you start off with a Reputation of 25. You are like Goku in his early ages. You are not sure what to post and still unfamiliar with how Steemit really works. This is where it is highly recommended that you create a "introduceyourself" post, as this allows the community to know you better and you should convince the community that you are who you are and not pretending to be someone else. There are some really successful "introduceyourself" posts, and I do see some people go close to Reputation of 40, even exceeding it with their first introduction post.
Reputation: Less than 25
Be very careful though when you first start. If you do anything that is not in line with Steemit's value, you may see your Reputation Score decreasing below 25. So please do not spam, plagiarize, impersonate people etc.
Steemit may just convert you back to "Kid Goku" even if you were "Super Saiyan 4". Again, only DragonBallz fans would understand this line but essentially I meant that your Reputation score can go below 25 if you do the "wrong things" I described above.
Reputation: 40 - 49
Congratulations, you have reached "Super-Saiyan" (DragonBallz term). You have been accepted by the community and you would notice that you are starting to get some followers and that your posts are receiving more views and people are starting to appreciate your posts.
At this stage, you should start looking at other means of interacting with the community. For example, you should participate in contests organised by other Steemians. If you are interested in Art, participate in Art contest.
Reputation: 50 - 59
At this change you are going through "metamorphosis" just like "Cell".
Your posts are gathering more attention now and you have a somewhat robust follow group. People will start to upvote your posts within hours of them being posted. Your Steem Power has started to accumulate.
I am also still in this stage, and I probably stayed in this stage for the longest time thus far. This is expected as it will take much longer for your reputation to increase from 60 - 69 than from 50 - 59.
Keep posting valuable content and you will feel a great sense of achievement once you break through 59 and obtain 60.
Reputation: 60 - 69
If you are at this stage, then I am very happy for you. My goal at the moment is to break through and obtain reputation score of 60.
You are a "Super Saiyan 2" now. (Again "DragonBallz), meaning that you are quite successful now. You will most likely have a big follower group and have a great Steem Power. You can now interact more with the community and even start arranging contests.
Reputation: 70 - 79
Wow, you are amazing. "Super Saiyan 3!!!" - meaning that only a few people are able to achieve this stage.
You have established your own name, and people will pay a lot of attention to your posts whenever you post.
Your posts will be noticed the second that it is published. You will probably also support and train the minnows (like myself) very frequently.
Reputation: 80 +
You are "invincible!" ("Super Vegito").
I have not yet seen a Steemian with a reputation score over 80, but that Steemian probably exists somewhere ...
