My father just joined steemit! :)
Hey everyone. As some of you may know I had been posting my fathers photography on here a number of months back to try to encourage my father to join because I felt like he would do well on here. And he was really skeptical at first, though over time he's been warming up to the idea of cryptocurrency and now he's so excited about the subject that he's signed up here on steemit and is even looking into investing in some other coins as well.
Back when I was posting my fathers work, I was lucky enough to somehow get his art noticed by a whale named @roadscape and that was extremely helpful in convincing my father to finally end up joining as his images were getting decent rewards on a regular basis, a few were even over $100! Which was awesome.. Though, I haven't seen roadscape for a while as I had a phase where I stopped posting photography for a while and I wish I didn't cause that support was incredibly appreciated.. But I just got so busy with my movie that I didn't have time to look for other images to share at the time... Hopefully we can somehow get a whale to notice my fathers work again on his own account and help him get started so he doesn't get too discouraged right away.
Having a whale upvoting your stuff definitely helps a lot! And I feel kinda bad for the people who don't know what that's like.. I've experienced both worlds, and I haven't had a whale on my page for a long time while I watch others getting a decent steady stream on a regular basis, and that's not just steem/money either.. When a whale upvotes your stuff it tends to get SEEN by a lot more people which tends to end up in more followers to your blog. So it's really helpful on numerous levels to have the help of a whale, even for a short while.
All of the pictures in this post were taken by my father and in my opinion he's kind of like a modern day Ansel Adams. I think his artwork is amazing and I strive as well to be a better photographer and am inspired by many his pictures. I'm also very thankful he got me into photography as it is something I enjoy a lot!

You're welcome for sharing more of his images, and to be fair this is just scratching the surface! He has a lot of really amazing other shots.. And.. Indeed he is very talented and I agree with your sentiments. It was pretty vital for him to find a line of work that was easier on the body and he did a great job with it in my opinion!

Glad you like his art! And.. Me too! It's pretty exciting, one of my brothers also joined recently and my other brother is interested as well so I'm going to help him out later tonight probably, plus numerous of my other friends on Facebook and such all of a sudden showing interest.. I think steemit is really starting to blow up and it's not even out of beta yet!
Holy those pictures make me want to go invest in a solid camera right away. The ol iPhone just doesn't do justice. These are seriously incredible! I'll find your dad on steemit and give him the credit he deserves!
He should organize group meets for taking photos.
A good camera does help! But more and more I think it's the content that is most important. Though.. If I had the funds I'd definitely get a much better camera too! And while I have access to this same 6x7, I tend to use the smaller digital T4i cause it's so much easier.. A digital medium back would be nice.. But.. A bit pricey.
Thanks for appreciating my dads work! And yeah.. Some type of meetup for taking pictures or teaching people about photography would be a good idea for him. I agree. One for me in the future as well, I've though about it before.
