Working Using Personal Protective Equipment
I am a health worker, especially in the field of radiography called a radiographer. My profession is a profession that is directly involved and as one of the frontliners against co-19 in the hospital. According to the procedure that we agreed upon together in the parent organization, every patient suspected of having contracted a coronavirus needs a radiological examination using X-rays on the chest (thorax). Either thorax examination using conventional X-rays or by using Computed Tomography Scanning (CT Scanning).
I have several times while working as a radiographer in a hospital doing radiological examinations on patients suspected of being infected with a coronavirus. And before examining these patients, I must really use all the equipment that can protect myself from the possibility of contracting the disease caused by the coronavirus. The personal protective equipment consists of hazmat clothes, or even simpler ones like rainwear made of plastic. Using gloves and N95 masks. Also use special glasses like Google glasses, and also use a face shield.
It also uses a protective cloth or plastic head protector that is not translucent to viruses. The latter must use plastic or rubber socks and use boots. All of these equipment must function properly to be safe from contracting with coronavirus.
After conducting a radiology examinations for patients suspected of being infected with coronavirus in the isolation room, all of the personal protective equipment that I use must be removed in the transit room which is a disinfectant room. In this transit room, before removing all the personal protective equipment, disinfectant was first performed throughout my body. Then I removed one by one the personal protective equipment which started from removing the gloves and washing my hands again, then using new gloves. And so on releasing face shield, special glasses, headgear and hazmat shirt. Then I proceeded to take off my rubber boots and socks. The latter took off my mask and gloves then I washed my hands and most of my limbs in this transit room.
After haven all the procedures, I was allowed to leave the isolation room. Not only that, I am classified as at high risk of being infected by coronavirus, every day by a special team, my body temperature and health are monitored by to ensure that I am not infected by coronavirus. I was also advised by the special team so that when not working at the hospital to do an self quarantine at home.
