I was doing my usual rounds on twitter to look at what has been happening in the crypto space a tweet got my attention. It seems that one of the most popular athletes in my country has started a foundation in his effort to help the less fortunate. The foundation itself is based in the U.S. which I think is a good move given the more mature regulatory environment in the U.S. regarding foundations.

The foundation is now trying to raise some funds to help our brothers and sisters in Mindanao which have been devastated by two consecutive strong earthquakes only hours in between. This has caused many deaths and a substantial amount of infrastructure, limiting the people how are living there access to basic needs.

Those who wants to help may do so by donating through the available options in the foundation's site. Many of the foundation's partners are blockchain related businesses and is providing great exposure for crypto as a means to extend help to anyone where ever you are in the world.

I think donations is one of the best use cases of blockchain technology as it provides donors a way to monitor where exactly their donations are going which they can do themselves using a blockchain explorer.
