How quickly the beach changes from calm to bluster ~

This is something that I needed to share about my beach. The reason being is that I wrote a post about perfect weather conditions for Mother's Day last Sunday. I posted photos up to show the amazingly beautiful scenes on the beach. It was wonderful to see such happy beach goers enjoying their bit of fun. Of course weather does not stay static. It would be silly to think that it would. Every day brings changes and in some instances dramatically. This is what happened with the surf beach across the road a few days after that memorable Sunday.

I had some warning that a weather change was in the air but I did not know to what extent at that particular time. All I seemed to see was the unusual sky, it was cloudy in the most creatively unusual way.

I was admiring the beauty of the sky and even took a photograph when I stopped the car. Take a look at this.



Amazing isn't it? Some weather climate friends suggested that these clouds herald wind and rain. Right, I thought and wondered what could that possibly mean for our sub-tropic conditions at the Sunshine Coast. I found out that they were spot on with their weather predictions. Because that night the wind and rain started. It became colder, the Ugg boots and warmer clothes were dragged out of the wardrobe. It was most pleasant because I really like the cold. However, the effect of this weather on the beach has been significant. Instead of pleasant strolling along, it became a battle with the strong wind and the blowing sand. It was very chilly and surprise surprise only a couple of people were spotted on the beach. The sensible ones were at home curled up with a book!

Even though it was blustery windy day it can only admit that it was the most exhilarating walk I had had for ages. As usual walking makes me warm so feeling uncomfortably cold was short-lived.

Seeing the little rainbow was magic. Surely rainbows are lucky!



This surf beach is the best no matter the weather.
