After lunch yesterday, the weather was lovely. It was partly sunny, without strong sunlight, and quite cool. My colleague and I walked along the road downstairs from the company and arrived at a large park a bit farther away.
Unlike other parks, this one wasn’t flat. It had tall, rolling hillocks and some relatively level areas. We strolled along the winding paths around the park. Suddenly, around a bend, we saw a hillside covered in evening primroses. Our eyes lit up, and we hurried over to admire the beautiful scene.
I wanted to take quiet photos of the flowers, but then seven or eight aunts in bright red exercise outfits rushed up the hillside. They plucked many evening primroses, weaving them into wreaths to wear on their heads, and used selfie sticks and various photography props to pose.
Because of the aunts, I couldn’t take unobstructed photos of the hillside flowers. I tried to frame my shots to avoid them, but two or three would still occasionally step into the frame.
Despite the interruption, I envied the aunts’ vibrant energy—they seemed more spirited than me, a young person!
This didn’t dampen our mood for enjoying the flowers, though. After all, beautiful things are loved by everyone.
We then walked down a footbridge in front of the park to the long roadside green belt I’d mentioned before, which I’d seen from a bus. There was a narrow sidewalk beside it, perfect for viewing the climbing roses I’d written about yesterday.
Hundreds of meters of climbing roses lined the area, and occasionally, we’d spot Mobike bicycles parked properly in their designated areas. I couldn’t help but snap several more photos.
We spent about an hour walking, stopping, and taking pictures at noon. We returned to the office for午休 (noon break) nearly at 1 o’clock. I quickly set up my reclining chair, covered myself with a thin blanket, and drifted into a sweet sleep.
