Whale. Today I'm talking about associations
When I began to paint every day, the first thing that turned out to be the most difficult is to find an idea for drawing. If earlier I had an idea for several days, now I paint spontaneously. Here, it would seem, where did the whale come from? But for me it's logical, yesterday I first delegated some of my strength to the whale. I did not calculate any profit, but I think that this idea is interesting in itself. After all, to delegate - do not have to be a whale. It is enough to accumulate a small amount - and voila, delegate wherever you want)))

For my small sketch, I took only 3 colors of watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": blue, violet, pink quinacridone. Paper Palazzo 280g / m2, 70% cotton.
I start with a pencil sketch, trying to catch the silhouette of the whale. There are no special constructions, so any one can cope)) When I highlight the main contour, I remove the rest of the lines with an eraser.
I get in the way of paint and start painting the whale, from the dark back to the light belly. I'm trying to make a stretch. On the raw paper I add spots of different shades, I leave belly light. And while the paper is wet I wash out the light spots above the eye, above the upper lip and on the side of the whale. When the leaf dries up add details: strips on the abdomen, eyes, crease at the lips and add a little bit of shadows and contrast.
When the whale is ready I decide to add a little white pencil to add accents in some places. Watercolor five-minute flew in half an hour)))
Have you already delegated some of your strength? To who?

I love whales! I mean the sea creature of course, and I guess Steem whales too :) I love that you used merely three colours. Sometimes a restrictive palette really allows us to express more clearly the subject matter. I like your process as well. And I am a new follower too, I love finding other artists!
Thank you) I like to limit in colors to work on mixing pigment.
