Jay. Who will guess which bird is next?

in #art8 years ago (edited)

So, today is a jay. The bird was chosen in a completely unusual way for me: I introduced "bright birds" into Google's line, went into pictures and simply began to flip down. The blue bird of happiness just won me over.

I use the watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": ultramarine, Prussian blue, scarlet, violet, pink quinacridone, neutral black. Masking liquid PEBEO. Paper Palazzo 280g / m2, 70% cotton.

I begin to draw a picture from the silhouette of a jay. I try to convey the slope of the bird and the proportions of the body. I pick up the masking liquid and close the small squares on the jay's feathers. It has a feather pattern in the form of light squares. Now I can go to watercolor.

The first layer I'm typing ultramarine. I add a lot of water and cover it with the silhouette of a bird. Now the Prussian blue can be applied dark spots, not forgetting about a drop of violet on the back of a bird. I try to repeat drawing on feathers. And on wet paper I add salt. I take the dryer and dry the work.

Now I turn to the details. Neutral black paint, I draw an eye and leave a highlight on it. From the eye, I turn to the beak. Then I change the paint to blue and add accents on the feathers where I deem necessary.

It remains for me to add a branch on which the bird sits. For this, I take pink quinacridone and scarlet and interfere with those colors that are on the palette. And, of course, I sign the work.

Thank you for watching!

P.S. It is hard to write in English, because my native language is Russian. But I'm learning. If you notice serious errors in the text that interfere with the correct perception, please let me know about them.

I'm glad that I've seen you in action. It's quite interesting you're using a blower to make the color dry is that correcT? so you can continue doing the colors?

I use a normal hair dryer, which also dry my hair)) Maybe someday I'll buy something that is specific to watercolors, so as not to drag the hair dryer out of the bathroom.
