久違的交換生活終於來到除了自我介紹的第一篇了，進了中文大學之後其實印象最深也是最早受到衝擊的應該就是教育文化上的差異了

Finally I write the first post about my exchange student life in HK excepts the earlier post related to "Self introduction" a while go. After entering CUHK, what most impressed me and shocked me is the difference between the education culture in HK & Taiwan

• 學費差別：

Difference in Tuition fee ：

在這裡其實認識了不少來這裡讀書的台灣人及當地學生，也因為離鄉背井，大部分學生都背負著不小的壓力要與本地的香港學生以及來自各個國家的學生競爭，就好比最接近我讀的國際貿易與企業管理(IBBA)，學費就比我在台灣硬生生超過10倍以上，也就是說讀完這裡的大學就要花將近台幣200萬的花費（大約是美金7萬），實在是所費不貲，也因此來這裡讀書的台灣人大部分都是選商科來讀（IBBA, Finance, Quantitative Finance )等等，也難怪學校在教育方面提供了學生很多學習上的資源可以利用。

Since studying in Hong Kong, I have made some friends of local students or students from Taiwan, and because of leaving Taiwan studying in a different country, students from Taiwan here face a bigger pressure than local students. As far as I know, most of them choose business related departments like IBBA, Finance, Quantitative Finace and so on.But the tuition fee they spent is about 10 times more than in Taiwan(about 70,000 usd), I think that's why CUHK provides students with many resources they can use in school.

• 學期長短的差別：

來到這裡的第一個禮拜其實很不習慣，因為往往以前台灣第一個學期是上很少課的，通常教授都是介紹完大綱就放大家走了，不過因為香港這裡的學期只有12週（足足比台灣的18週少了1/3啊）所以不會浪費什麼時間，課程進度是很緊湊的，也因為學期時間特別短，所以當我考完期中考回台灣的時候他們甚至都才剛上課一個月呢
。

I didn't get used to the way teachers use here so well when the semester started because teachers in Taiwan seldom
finish the whole class in the first week of the semester, most of them let students go after introducing the syllabus of the class.....
Because there are only 12 weeks here, the progress of the course is also more compact, when my friends in Taiwan just started the semester for one month, while I've finished my mid-term exam in Hong Kong.

• 每堂課的時間長度：

以中大三學分的課來說，上課時間為165分鐘（比如14：30-17：15）中間只會休息一次，相較起來每次老師能夠利用的時間也更足夠了，不過對學生來說也更需要堅持了，在這裡上課真的很需要專心，幾乎每堂課的每個學生都非常認真在上課以及抄筆記，片刻都不得懈怠，這也使得我也不敢太放鬆，雖然只是個交換生，我在台灣甚至還沒這麼認真上課哈，而我在台灣的上課時間都是10分開始，如9:10, 12:10, 每一小時休息10分鐘，三小時的課中則會休息兩次。

Take 3credits - Course in CUHK as an example, the length of the class lasts about 2hrs and 45mins, only 1 break during every class, so the time teachers can manage is much more than in Taiwan(2 breaks in every 3 credits-course).
However, it is more necessary for students to stick to it, should be very concentrated here. You can see almost every students in each class are very focus in class and taking notes, which make me dare not to be slack. Although I'm just an exchange student here, I wasn't so concentrated in Taiwan before.

• 有關學期成績分布的差異：

我認為其實台灣學校的分數只要你有心把分數衝高，選對課基本上很好拿到高分（90分以上）不過這裡卻是靠學生成績的百分比來給分的，也就是說如果你要高分你必須要在班上維持一定的百分比之前才有辦法維持好的GPA，這個部分真的是非常困難，不過聽說近幾年情況有好點，但還是因不同老師而異，這方面對交換生來說真是一大福音，因為大部分我們在這裡的學期成績之後只會顯示P或是F(Pass or Fail)，就不會這麼的有壓力了哈哈。

Talk about my opinion toward the distribution of the course in Taiwan, as you want, many courses you can choose strategically for making your score of the semester much higher than other students. But in Hong Kong, how your grades of the semester are determined by your percentage of every score compared to any other students in the class. So if you want to keep your GPA at a high level, you need to keep being the top 10-15% in each class, such a very difficult mission to achieve......
It's lucky that the method to determine the score of my semester in Hong Kong only shows P or F (Pass or Fail)in the end, make me not have to be so stressful as local students haha.

花了不一樣的學費來體驗香港的學生生活其實是很幸福的，在這期間也認識了很多不同背景的朋友，著實讓我的大學生活更加豐富，我會好好珍惜在香港的這一個學期。

It's very fulfilled for costing me the same tuition fee to experience the totally different student life in Hong Kong. I also made a lot of friends from different backgrounds and countries, which really enriched my university life, and I will cherish this semester in Hong Kong very well.
