Trying to get the garden sorted... again.
I spent yesterday sorting out the bottom garden, cutting the lawn and trimming the hedges. The hedges usually need cutting 2 or 3 times during the summer but because I cracked a rib last month they're a bit late getting their first trim.
Today it was time to get back to the top garden that I'd left to get out of shape again for the last 2 weeks.
After trimming the hedges, which doesn't take too long it was time to clean up which is the longer job.
Tomorrow it's time to tackle the plants around the pond, everything grows so fast it needs a severe cut back. Also many of the plants have self seeded and I've just left them to grow so plants are being crowded out by others.
By the end of tomorrow things should look better and less like a jungle and then it's time for skip runs to get rid of the plants I chop down.
Gardens may be pains in the arse but they are worth the trouble. You get to build little microclimates for things to grow, and then all the little critters to look at while enjoying a burger or a beer.

Gardens here also grow too quickly and it doesn't take long for them to get out of hand. I don't mind a bit of a jungle, but even I get to the point where I can't stand it and need to clip!
