Should everyone have a niche on Steem?
Hello,
Yesterday I had a discussion with someone from the Steem World about Steem.
This person said that an account always had to pursue a topic and a niche. I did not quite agree, because here you are more personal than professional.
Steem does not have the level of what Medium has, nowhere near. There are much better authors active and most of the reviews have been read too.
The world is just different here. Most write but do not read. Unfortunately, I would say.
Should Steem and the community on Steem try to bring to Steem such known authors known from Medium? Should the guys from @steempress get an incentive to develop a plug-in for Medium so you can post on Medium and Steem at once?

gestern habe ich eine Diskussion mit jemanden aus der Steem Welt über Steem gehabt. Das sollte natürlich sein.
Diese Person meinte dass ein Konto immer ein Thema verfolgen musste. Ich war nicht so ziemlich einverstanden, weil hier ist man mehr persönlich als fachlich.
Steem hat nicht das Niveau von Medium, bei weitem nicht. Da sind viel bessere Authoren aktiv und die meisten die Bewertungen haben werden auch gelesen.
Hier tickt die Welt einfach anders. Die meisten schreiben aber lesen nicht. Leider, würde ich sagen.
Sollte Steem und die Gemeinschaft auf Steem versuchen solche Authoren die bekannt auf Medium sind auf Steem zu bringen? Sollten die Jungs von @steempress ein Anreiz bekommen um ein Plug-in für Medium zu entwickeln womit man auf Medium und Steem auf einmal posten kann?

I do not agree, I have been writing about all kinds of things, and the first months I have been writing heavy topics as a therapy for myself to heal ... I did that months and fulltime writing with good earnings.. when I didn't want to write about those topics anymore , I could easily pick something else .. posting art, funny things, focus on engagement leagues, just day to day life things.. and many more.. I've done it all and it didn't give me less support...
People that follow me and engage with me mostly read all my posts.. but I do agree, that it's not for everyone.. Some people are defo better of sticking with one niche. I have these periods that I get bored of something and need to shift my focus, and whenever that's the case I just focus on another thing.
So while I know this isn't going to work for everyone, it works for me :) I still have to be happy with what I do, and I'm not going to force myself to write about one certain niche when that bores me :)

I agree. Niche writing isn't for everybody and I don't really think it would affect your following. Many people follow others because they like their style of writing and the fact they touch on many topics. I personally would also get too bored sticking to writing about just one niche topic too. :)
It is more about the personal connection than about the information, or?

The issue with the medium model is it doesn't create traffic.
Revenue in Internet generally comes from Traffic.
I will click on medium links, but I don't go there to read...
Do you?
I go to medium to check if the writers I follow posted something new and maybe to find sometimes interesting content. I turned off any notification on new posts as they distract to much and kill the focus and time.

Yes. Percent wise medium has better posts. So if their content can come over to steem then it would be good for the steem.
Driving user engagement on any blockchain is key for its long term success.
But We should also be careful that steem tokens should not fall in week hands who receive and run to exchange to sell
