#Newsteem - nothing new under the sun

last week I've been asking what do you think about the #newsteem. I got some feedback, which I somehow expected to receive. It was something like I feel, some people that are not very happy and some that get more curation.

Here is my take on this.

I don't think it is going to improve Steem, maybe on the contrary. It has unleashed a mindless mob which flags everything that is not according to their imposed guidelines. Remember that there are no rules in here and imposing some by brute force does not make the place better.

There are flags sent out especially to smaller accounts that are caught in the war. Some of them on good reason because they can't keep out of the big boys playground.

The flags are mostly mindless as content is not reviewed also not the accounts that are flagged are not checked. It is like in the communist or nazi time where everything that was not fitting their guidelines was killed.

This madness needs to stop as active users are quitting the platform. A lot of them and the value comes from this users, the ones who build up the accounts and don't sell their Steem. If the market is flooded with Steem the value decreases.

The main flaggers are arguing about circle jerking, but they circle jerking also. Yes, the next argument would be that they don't do it like others but it is still circle jerking. And it is fine like this, you support mostly people you have build a relationship with.

It is easier to connect to someone met in real life or that has interacted with you than with someone new.

On flagging on bid bot votes I can only say that with bid bots was everything transparent before. Now the offchain markets will strive. This can't be tracked. Votes sold outside of the chain are much more worse than the ones on chain, so let's cut the hypocrisies here.

Last week when I checked the trending, which I seldom do I've seen more announcements of curation than curated content. Is this not a hypocrisies? Well we can argue who the beneficiaries are,but they don't get the screen time needed. This shall be the goal, publicity and screen time, to get more followers.

So, I hope that Steem will get the SMTs soon out so that this witchhunt started by some self imposed Messiahs or Jihadist to not discriminate religions will end.
