Looking at trending
Hello,
It's 5:00 in the morning and I wanted to see what the trending looks like this time.
To my good surprise, @ sorin.cristescu comes first. But he bought the place, which is not bad for me because he writes good stuff that is relevant to me and I prefer to read something like this instead of other garbage that normally drifts in trending.
There's another post from @emrebeyler and one from @themarkymark that has relevance to Steem.
Otherwise, a curator is advertising himself and normal trash.
Is Steem a blog platform? Yesno, I would say. Most of us are blogging, but we do not have the authority as a medium writer where most go for information, especially in the crypto field?
Steem hasn't been able to attract these people, even though they would have a much longer receiving radius.
I'll ask one question: What would we have to do to make Steem stand better, like Medium, for example?
Hallo,
A better user interface 🤷🏼♂️

I see the bidbots as the early parts of an organic economy in Steem.
I get that it is bad for those who consider themselves to be pure content creators, but if people haven't noticed, if we do not find a way to bring money in there will be no rewards to hand out.
I wish we could add a link/section at the top called popular for the posts with the top engagement and comments.
I look at trending all of the time, to see who is doing something they thought was good enough to spend and risk money on in order to have visibility.
Anyway, I appreciate your point of view, but also wanted to share another way to look at it!
Wouldn't that entice spam comments to get on that section?
Yeah, probably would.
A much better user experience (not just interface). Something else for which Steem is better than Medium, other than the rewards and decentralization.
To some degree, for some influencers the rewards will pull us down, because they already make enough money, they don't need some change from the reward pool. And will see the whole thing as driven by money, not by value.
Censorship-resistant might work for some, but if we market ourselves as censorship-resistant and have no interface that can really be that way, then we are not, because nobody really reads the blockchain.
UPDATE: Communities, with their own space, rules etc. might do the trick.

I did a little writing on medium about 3 years ago. I fell in with a guy I really liked and we traded back and forth then one day he quit. It was a couple of weeks until his sister told me he died of a heart attack at 37. Medium made their big 'profitability changes' at the time and I just drifted away.
I'm REALLY glad to be here, and just waiting for the audience to catch up :)
