First steps of investing - expand your network

first the disclaimer, as this is important. I'm not a professional and my articles shall be taken as they are, they are not investment advise as it can go wrong for your from different aspects that I'm not aware.
One thing that I've learned the past years is that one thing is very important to succeed, even in investing and this is the ability to connect to people on higher level than you.
There is a saying that people if you find yourself the smartest in the room with most knowledge, leave. Yes, leave that room, you can not leverage what you learn there. This continues my idea from last week, where I told you just to move on from persons that are trying to hold you down.
Seek to meet people that have high goals as you have. They don't need to be the same as you, maybe it is better if people with different experiences and traits come together, they need to have more knowledge than you have. Of course, you need to be able to apply this knowledge in your life and business.
How to meet such people? Go to meet ups or events and speak to people. That would be the easiest. Be genuine.
If you are an introvert try to speak some words, not real specific to a given subject. Exercise and practice makes the master. The worst thing that can happen is that some people will not reply or say no. So what, this is no pain. It happens and can be overcome.
You can try to be active on forums, but this will not bring the connections needed in most cases. Yes, you can find some gems there, but the real connection is done after you've met someone at least 7 times.
It is supposed to be the sweet spot where partnerships can start and grow.
So here is the plan:
-check local events
-check meetups
-use different media, from newspaper to facebook
-move yourself there and start speaking
