Brainstorm on applications for Steem

Hello,

I was thinking the other day about Steem, not about blogging or the games that are existing, but about other uses that this blockchain can have.

It is far away from being an asset on a portfolio even if it is or was of the assets where I had the biggest coverage in the crypto world at one time from the value point of view. Now the value has plummet and it is just staying there. I will not sell because I think it might recover.

So, I'm thinking where can it be for use. It has one of the biggest values which other blockchains don't have speed and cost. Yes it is inflationary, so that is why I say that to hold it as an asset might be counterproductive without using it.

The blockchain is more capable to be used for payments than BTC. On BTC you need to wait and just imagine staying in line at a supermarket where everybody is paying with BTC. It is slower than if you have only grannies that have perfect change in pennies.

I still don't see it as a payment modality as it is to volatile.

I can see Steem as an application for divers login tracker if the custom code behind it is coded well enough to keep some kind of privacy. But it could be very easy to use in a company to track the employees when they come and leave based on their Steem accounts. It doesn't have to be applications at start that produce direct money. It can be applications that companies pay for as a contract on a monthly basis. Or it can be use to track revisions of a car for example. Like this you know every problem that car had.

Smaller companies can use it for management inventory, scan in a register you know where is it and at a sell you know it is sold. Something like the monster cards and tokens that are used now.

I see countless possibilities that have a commercial application behind that don't need to be visible for every steem user but can be added in the blocks.

So what ideas of opportunities beside the one we have do you see on Steem. Let us brainstorm.
