Don't SCREW with a KANGAROO!steemCreated with Sketch.

While most people know Kangaroos as rather cute, friendly, bouncy 'ole critters, the truth apparently is that they can be rather temperamental, "ornery", and even thuggishly abusive and belligerent when it comes right down to it!

Check out this video of a man forced to punch a kangaroo in the face to free his dog and get the kangaroo to back off:

Perhaps more nuts is that animal rights "activists" were outraged by the "treatment" of the clearly belligerent kangaroo, who was hit only to stun and deter the "Roo" from attacking anyone else! Besides, the kangaroo is just fine and at the end of the day, any further escalation was effectively deterred.

Here are a few other "entertaining" examples of belligerent kangaroo behavior...

This kangaroo is thuggishly posturing to "let me in or else"! Check out the claws and "head-butt" on that beast:

Here you see Woody Allen boxing a Kangaroo at the Hippodrome in 1966.
Spoiler... Kangaroo WINS:

And here's an interesting mini-documentary on Kangaroos. Fighting and Boxing are apparently survival traits for Roos, and it's something they learn and practice early on in their lives. Quite fascinating, actually:

Sort:

Roos are a pest, as are camels and cats in Australia.
Roos, like giraffes are amazingly graceful at speed, they look as if they are in slow motion yet they are flying!
Have you ever seen giraffes fighting?

wow, I always thought giraffes were so pretty and relatively docile loveable looking creatures! Didn't realize they could also be so vicious. Guess it's sort of like with people too, all's well when times are good, but when the tides turn and survival mode kicks in, watch out. Thanks for adding that!

Roos are not a pest. Feral animals such as camels and cats that you mentioned are.

Why would you say that roos are not a pest? I am interested to understand your viewpoint. In some respects I agree with you; I should have been fuller in my explanation.

Why? Because I have friends who work in wildlife care and rescue, specifically with the group, W.I.R.E.S. They have up to date scientific information about the state of Australian wildlife. These people have informed me what the true state is with regards to kangaroos.
Secondly, think about it, how can a native animal be a pest? A cane toad, feral fox, cat, dog, buffalo, pig, ect. certainly are.

then we agree. thank you

its mainly just the big Red Kangaroos which are like this, the rest of them are pretty chill.

The Eastern Greys also "box". Even the smaller species you do not want to receive a kick from.
