Along the Turnagain Arm

I love this stretch of highway between Anchorage and Girdwood. In the 1964 Earthquake the bedrock dropped by 9ft, thus sending the ocean in and flooding the trees lining the shoreline in salt water. To this day, the trees are still standing in the water. Some call it eerie, I call it beautiful.

Here's a few photos from my last visit in May 2017. The first photo I loveeee, the rest could have been better, but since I'm talking about the trees, I should at least show some! Can't wait until I go home again.
