Build the model Ford GT 2018.
Hello my dear friend! Your attention is the story of the assembly of the Detroit monster, the grandson of the guy who many years ago defeated Ferrari in the Le Man 24 Hour Racing. Ford GT 2018 model. I really liked the Ford GT40, even more like the Ford GT 2005 release, well, and the 2018 model struck me at all. I first saw it in The Grand Tour program, where Jeremy Clarkson, sitting behind the wheel of just such a Ford GT, tried to overtake his colleagues who used all kinds of public transport. Impressive dimensions of this car, compared with previous versions, it has become even wider, even longer. The engine has changed, instead of the familiar V8 as on the previous model, the V6 is now used. A strange choice of engine for such a sports car, but it is precisely this that the developers probably wanted to stand out.
Now go to the very set. This set is the 2019 novelty from Tamiya. I am very pleased that it was Tamiya who released this model, since the quality of their sets is very high. However, there is also a minus - this is not a very detailed set, there are not many details here, and the engine, for example, is completely represented by four or five details. After Pagani Huayra is even somehow boring.
Well, now the process of turning into this
a small handful of it.
Start as usual with the engine. More precisely with the imitation of the engine. That's all that is here that V6.
Everything is going pretty quickly.
What I liked most about the set was the detailing of the headlights.
By themselves, the headlights of this car - it's just a work of art, which captures the features of previous models of the Ford GT. Their assembly brought the most pleasure.
The car's interior is also quite well detailed, and its assembly did not deliver any problems at all. I liked the fact that the inserts on the torpedo are given separately and you don’t have to paint them with a brush, but you can immediately paint them from a can.
Next we have suspension and brake discs, brake pads, I decided to make a golden color. Somewhere on the internet I came across an option with such brake pads. Next - the glass. Here everything is as usual, the masks are on the inner side (the masks are given in the kit), with the adhesive tape the outer part and the coloring in black from a can.
Next comes the body assembly, I also want to stop here. This is something fantastic, combining a futuristic design and recognizable features of previous models.
It is surprising that a car with this design went into mass production. Usually, such models were shown at at exhibitions, they were admired, and then they were removed in the back box because all this is difficult and risky to bring to life. With the Ford GT this did not happen and very well. I decided to make it in the original blue color with white stripes. Yes, it is very trite, there are many options where it is more interesting, but for a long time I wanted to assemble a Ford GT, and it seems to me only in such a coloring. To get started is to work on the front water intakes.
After gluing on them, you need to go through the putty and sandpaper to remove the gap from gluing parts. Next is to go through the sandpaper throughout the body to remove all unnecessary. Next, select the jointing with a sharp knife and can be primed.
Paint and varnish some elements of the body will have to be separate, because when assembled, they simply can not be reached. Then the strip on the hood and roof and also varnish them.
On the engine compartment and on the spoiler separately, since they will have to be cut.
And now, almost everything is ready.
Gradually, everything is set in its place.
Then connect both halves and ready. It remains only to add mirrors and ready.
As you can see, the story is quite simple and for me it was a bit boring. It was more difficult to find the background for the final photo shoot. The finished model does not open anything, even the engine compartment. Lamborghini Huracan from Aoshima was a simple model, but here everything is simplified to indecency. In general, I expected more from this set. It took about three weeks to assemble, and that was because I often had to be distracted by other matters.
