Hi everyone, here I am with another adventure!
Last Sunday it was very hot, the temperature was 35 degrees Celsius and I wanted some fresh air so I decided to go for a ride on the mountain closest to where I live: Monte Grappa!

ITA

P1300143.jpg

I arrived by car up to the top of the mountain and then I went to explore for the first time a part where there are the remains of the American base built a few decades ago.

ITA

P1300144.jpg

The view was incredible, but unfortunately there was a lot of haze so the view was not perfectly clear.

ITA

P1300145.jpg

In the sun the heat was torrid even though I was at an altitude of 1800 meters.
It didn't seem to be in the mountains, it was sultry!

ITA

P1300147.jpg

For me that day was a patrol.
I photographed mountains and places I've never seen before, a world of possible excursions opened up for me!

ITA

P1300148.jpg

There are miles of trails just waiting to be walked.
Unfortunately the sky did not prepare for a beautiful pink sunset, I had to settle!

ITA

P1300149.jpg

Look at the beautiful pasture I photographed.
I used a focal length of 90 mm and to mitigate the haze I used the polarizing filter and I used the photoshop haze reduction tool.
On a clear day the depth of that panorama must be very beautiful!

ITA

P1300150.jpg

Near a pasture there are usually huts with cows, in fact, at the bottom you can see a hut.
Unfortunately, they are often closed because there are no people willing to make sacrifices and work hard as a shepherd in the high mountains.

ITA

P1300151.jpg

At one point I came to a concrete terrace that was part of the former NATO military base.

I don't know what it was for, I just know that there was no railing and the view was incredible!

ITA

As you can see I had to exaggerate with the processing of the photo to eliminate the haze, in fact in these shots you can see the sky with some artifacts due to processing.

ITA

Since I had a commitment in the evening, I had to stop and go back to get home in time and prepare for a dinner with friends.

In the following shot we see the monument to the fallen of the First World War.

There are the bodies of 22,950 soldiers there. It is a truly melancholy place but at the same time it makes you think.

I will make a dedicated post.

ITA

Along the narrow path, being careful not to stumble, I lingered on some violating flowers, very beautiful...

At that altitude there were few trees so I could not even grasp elements in the foreground as I usually like to do.

ITA

A quella altitudine c'erano pochi alberi quindi non ho potuto cogliere anche elementi in primo piano come mi piace fare di solito.

When I got to the car and started along the numerous hairpin bends, on one in particular where there is also a restaurant, I noticed a particular structure in reading, so I parked and went to see closely...

ITA

P1300174.jpg

It was a stairway that led to a wooden platform and soon after there was a launching slide for paragliding enthusiasts!

P1300176.jpg

I don't know if the photo gives the idea but it was really impressive as a slide!
If a person suffers from vertigo I advise him to stay away from there!

The post has come to an end, I hope you enjoyed it!
If you liked it, let me know with a nice upvote! :D

Oh WOW, you are really treating us with an amazing set of photos! They are all great but this one is a show stopper:

Thanks Eve, what you chose is my favorite shot! We have similar tastes;)

Ciao @alequandro!

Wow! That is a beautiful hike and day of exploration! You got some great photos of the mountains and valleys.

It was a stimulating excursion, started by chance...
I am happy with the result despite the strong light and humidity that limited the visibility of the landscape.

beautiful pictures! Love all ones! ♥
I have give this post some love from MSP/PAL community! Keep doing great photography! Hope to see more and more of this incredible stuff.

Thanks for what you do!

Just gorgeous! What a wonderful place to be. Where to begin? From end to finish it's an eye candy. I am afraid of heights but this just makes me want to paraglide.

I'm glad you enjoyed my photos!
I don't suffer from vertigo and until recently I was doing sport climbing, but I don't have the courage to do paragliding :D

I like to hike. It's always a different view up there.
