El anillo del cielo

Durante el día, la temperatura del bosque era bastante alta, la luz del sol hacia que cada una de las grandes hojas verdes de los arboles brillaran con su tono verde más intenso, la clorofila hacía su trabajo más arduo durante estas horas. Al llegar la tarde, el ángulo de inclinación de los rayos de sol permitía observar su contorno al menos por pocos segundos, antes de que produjera alguna molestia en los ojos. Los animales aprovechaban el calor del día para calentar sus cuerpos, y para trabajar cada uno en las actividades de sobrevivencia diaria.

Al caer la noche, el frio se apodera del bosque, y de las pequeñas casas que se encuentran en la periferia. Las pequeñas gotas de rocío comienzan a adherirse en la superficie de las hojas, y la niebla impide ver mas allá de tres arboles de profundidad. Daniel solía pasear en las noches, especialmente cuando hacia frio, era la mejor forma de ejercitarse sin tener que sudar demasiado, la caminata nocturna era una de las actividades que mas disfrutaba, y mientras a otros les daba miedo salir a plena luz de luna llena, para él era una excelente oportunidad de observar y admirar la naturaleza desde otra perspectiva.

Una de esas largas noches de caminata, Daniel logro observar una gran y densa luz en el cielo, parecía una estrella, solo que se movía bastante rápido, y de no ser por la intensidad de su luz, se pudiera decir que era una gran estrella fugaz, pero no fue así. Lo primero que se le vino a la mente fue que podía ser la luz de algún faro nuevo, y que tenia gran potencia, incluso una mayor a la que poseía el faro de la playa.

Esta idea lo mantuvo tranquilo durante unos 20 minutos, pero al final, la curiosidad le gano a la supuesta respuesta racional a lo que había visto, no aguanto más, y se dirigió hacia el origen de tan misterioso suceso.

Camino unos 5 minutos aproximadamente, a gran velocidad, quería enterarse rápidamente de lo que había pasado. Al llegar al supuesto lugar del evento, en el cual se suponía que la brillante luz se había extinguido, solo encontró una gran cantidad de hojas verdes en el suelo, era como si alguien las acabara de arrancar de las ramas. Se dispuso a observar cada rama, pero a ninguna le faltaba una cantidad similar de hojas como la que se encontraba en el suelo.

En el centro, y escondido entre las hojas, se encontraba un pequeño envoltorio morado, era bastante pequeño, se podía sostener con las manos. Daniel no quería apresurarse y agarras algo que pudiera ser peligroso, pero nuevamente la curiosidad jugó en su contra. Al examinar lo que había dentro, se encontró con varios pedazos de cristales, eran bastante brillantes, mucho más que el cuarzo, parecían una extraña sal mineral, considero por un momento probar su sabor, pero desistió al considerar este cristal como un posible agente venenoso.

En el fondo del envoltorio, había un anillo, bastante sencillo en comparación con el gran brillo de los cristales que lo acompañaban. Estaba hecho de metal y contenía en su parte central una piedra ámbar, de color opaco y oscuro. Daniel se lo probo, y le quedaba perfecto en su dedo anular. Desde esa noche, no le prestó más atención a lo sucedido, mantuvo la teoría del faro, y tomó el anillo como un objeto perdido, que ahora le pertenecía por el hecho de haberlo encontrado.

Una tarde, decidió pulir la piedra del que ahora era su anillo favorito, al hacerlo, no solo le quito el polvo que tenía en su superficie, sino que descubrió una pequeña abertura en centro, una abertura que coincidía perfectamente con uno de los cristales encontrados en el envoltorio. Decidió quitárselo e intentar insertar uno de esos cristales en ese pequeño orificio. Al hacerlo, Daniel quedo completamente obnubilado. La piedra que antes era opaca y carente de brillo, había tomado un tono más claro, gracias a una pequeña luz en su interior.

Por varios meses, Daniel nunca se enteró del origen de aquella misteriosa luz en el fondo de la piedra, tampoco lograba imaginar si había alguna utilidad especial en ella. Decidió mantener todo esto en secreto, ya que ante los ojos de las demás personas, el solo tenía un anillo, un anillo sencillo, carente de lujos, y de aspecto quizá un poco viejo para la época.

La vida de Daniel en ese entonces, y a pesar de sus placenteros paseos nocturnos, era algo difícil, los problemas familiares y laborales eran la peor parte del día, tanto que le hacían desear que llegara pronto la noche, para así poder estar a solar, en el bosque y bajo la luz de la luna.

Una noche, sentado en una gran piedra que se encontraba en el bosque, decidió accionar de nuevo el mecanismo que encendía la luz en el anillo, le parecía una luz bastante desestresante y hermosa, que le ayudaría a olvidar los problemas de la vida. En ese momento sintió una gran necesidad de volver al pasado, época en la cual solo era un niño y no tenia que preocuparse por los típicos problemas sociales, económicos y laborales de las personas adultas.

Cientos de recuerdos de su infancia invadieron su memoria, parecía que estuviera soñando despierto, pues estos recuerdos eran bastante reales, casi podía sentir las emociones de aquel niño que le encantaba jugar al cazador montado en las ramas de los arboles. El anillo brillo un poco más de lo normal, pero Daniel no lo noto en ese entonces. Se preocupo más por ir a dormir, a tratar de convivir con aquellos recuerdos nostálgicos de su niñez. En la mañana siguiente, reviso el periódico que estaba en el comedor, al ver la fecha, se sintió engañado, como si alguien tratara de jugarle un broma, luego al mirar por la ventana, quedó atónito, estaba viviendo una realidad de 20 años atrás, en un cuerpo de un niño. Daniel used to walk at night, especially when it was cold, it was the best way to exercise without having to sweat too much, the night walk was one of the activities he enjoyed the most, and while others were afraid to go out in full moonlight, for him it was an excellent opportunity to observe and admire nature from another perspective.

One of those long nights of walking, Daniel was able to observe a great and dense light in the sky, it looked like a star, only that moved quite fast, and if it was not for the intensity of its light, we could say that it was a great shooting star, but it was not so. The first thing that came to mind was that it could be the light of some new lighthouse, and that it had great power, even greater than the lighthouse on the beach.

This idea kept him calm for about 20 minutes, but in the end, curiosity won him over the supposed rational response to what he had seen, he couldn't stand it any longer, and he headed towards the origin of such a mysterious event.

I walk about 5 minutes, at great speed, wanted to find out quickly what had happened. When he arrived at the supposed place of the event, where the bright light was supposed to have been extinguished, he only found a large amount of green leaves on the ground, it was as if someone had just pulled them from the branches. He set out to observe each branch, but none of them lacked a similar amount of leaves as the one found on the ground.

In the center, and hidden among the leaves, was a small purple wrapper, was quite small, could be held by hands. Daniel didn't want to rush and grab something that could be dangerous, but again curiosity played against him. When examining what was inside, he found several pieces of crystals, they were quite shiny, much more than quartz, they looked like a strange mineral salt, I consider for a moment to taste their taste, but he gave up considering this crystal as a possible poisonous agent.

At the bottom of the wrapper, there was a ring, quite simple in comparison with the great brightness of the crystals that accompanied it. It was made of metal and contained in its central part an amber stone, opaque and dark in color. Daniel tried it on, and it fit perfectly on his ring finger. From that night on, he paid no more attention to what had happened, maintained the theory of the lighthouse, and took the ring as a lost object, which now belonged to him because he had found it.

One afternoon, he decided to polish the stone of what was now his favorite ring. In doing so, he not only removed the dust from its surface, but also discovered a small opening in the center, an opening that matched perfectly with one of the crystals found in the wrapper. He decided to take it off and try to insert one of those crystals into that little hole. In doing so, Daniel was completely blinded. The stone, which had previously been opaque and dull, had taken on a lighter tone, thanks to a small light inside.

For several months, Daniel never knew the origin of that mysterious light at the bottom of the stone, nor could he imagine if there was any special use in it. He decided to keep all this a secret, because before other people's eyes, he only had one ring, a simple ring, devoid of luxuries, and looking perhaps a little old for the time.

Daniel's life at that time, and in spite of his pleasant night walks, was somewhat difficult, family and work problems were the worst part of the day, so much so that he wanted the night to come early, so that he could be in the sun, in the forest and under the moonlight.

One night, sitting on a big stone in the forest, he decided to activate again the mechanism that turned on the light in the ring, it seemed to him a rather de-stressing and beautiful light, which would help him to forget the problems of life. At that time he felt a great need to return to the past, a time when he was only a child and did not have to worry about the typical social, economic and employment problems of adults.

Hundreds of memories of his childhood invaded his memory, it seemed that he was dreaming awake, because these memories were quite real, could almost feel the emotions of that child who loved to play the hunter mounted on the branches of trees. The ring shone a little brighter than normal, but Daniel didn't notice it then. He worried more about going to sleep, to try to live with those nostalgic memories of his childhood. The next morning, he checked the newspaper that was in the dining room, when he saw the date, he felt deceived, as if someone was trying to play a joke on him, then when he looked out the window, he was stunned, he was living a reality of 20 years ago, in a body of a child.
