From The Land Of Mountains #5 (Biking & Peace Pagoda)

in #life6 years ago (edited)

Before I explain this picture, let's rewind a couple of hours into the previous night. So in the previous day we had a lot of activities lined up which we were successful in doing, one after the other. After this, we decided to roam around the lakeside markets of the city.

Now I absolutely love the Nepalese markets because they have so many handicraft objects to choose from! The previous times that I visited here I didn't even know so many cool cafés existed in this place. One can definitely see a lot of tourists hanging around here even in off seasons. Actually this is one of the best times to visit Pokhara if you like less crowded cities.

I tried to get a pano view along with this cool lantern pathway. Doesn't it look like the sky is full of red stars? The colors look phenomenal accompanied by the cool spotlight on the road.

Okay, so the following video is a very short clip of the Heli Ride which I had talked about in one of my earlier posts. Me and my family immediately decided that we need to experience this for sure! I would love to do the Annapurna Base Camp ( ABC ) along with Mt. Everest tour for sure! These are a few of my bigger goals... I guess :)

The rest of the night was spent on strolling around, tasting a lot of food, seeing some awesome handicraft stuff (my weakness) I also got myself a bag for travel purposes from the cool bag store :)

That was pretty much for the crazy adventure filled day and we headed to the hotel to get some sleep. It would be a lie to say that I woke up on time, the next morning for the bike ride because exhaustion had hit me a little by then. Although we were an hour late, me and my brother @sauravrungta managed to get bicycles on rent. We rode around the lakeside and shot some short clips of each other. We definitely felt the need of a handy camera like a GoPro or something so we could have shot the entire ride.

I managed to click these 2 cuties in the middle of my ride. Their names were Angel and Snorky who took my heart away in an instant! Sooo adorable, don't you think?! <3

Oh oh what is that? What's hidden behind those prayer flags?

Ta-da!! It's the Peace Pagoda! After our bike ride, we came back to the hotel where all of us gathered and went for some nice Indian breakfast. The next and final destination for this trip was the popular Peace Pagoda. It took us about 25 minutes to reach to the parking from where we had to take A LOT of stairs to reach the main stupa. Let's take a walk, shall we?

So the view from this place is like a combination of everything that I might have shared till now. You can see the mountain range, the Phewa lake, the city, the gliders along with the ultraflights. It is situated on the Ananda Hill and the view is totally mesmerising. It was kinda hot but very windy at the same time. I remember I had used the hiking trail when I was here with my friends unlike this time.

As the name suggests, this place is truly peaceful and you are not allowed to make any noise. You cannot call out friends from far away or jump around the place. It's absolutely quiet up there which I think is just beautiful. We got a nice place for trying out some pictures though ( Hence, the first picture was taken to get some cool shots with the amazing white background.) Rocking that steemit shirt ;)

I saw this cool locket and fell in love with it and now it is my travel partner. Hope to take this little fella to a lot of places :) I got some similar keyrings for my friends here in India as well. We started to descend after checking out the entire space and it was getting really hot too. I really loved some of the boards that these people had kept on the way to the stupa.

The next day I had to come back from the trip to India, what a bummer! Who would want to return from such a beautiful place... But yeah had to bid the place goodbye for once. This was definitely one big MEMORABLE one for me as I did those things for which I had waited for years and it certainly is a very satisfying feeling. I look forward to coming back here again and making more of this place! A must go place for you all adventure loving freaks out there!

With this post, we reach to an end of the series and I await the many more that are to come for the next destinations. Cheers! <3

Till then..

Lots of Love <3

Seems like a great adventurous trip you and @sauravrungta had. The pictures are very lit and you look great in that Steemit logo T-shirt. Cheers and it's always sad to come back home after the vacation. But then we have to say goodbye so that we can say hello again in the future. Cheers and I wish many more such trips to you peeps. :')

I got the shirt sent to me through a friend.. :)

I was assuming Nepal was all devastated after the earthquake. I think it has recovered pretty well now. It has always been on my goto list. I instead visited Bhutan 2 years back. Bhutan is also a Buddhist country and a very peaceful one.

Yeah it still is. Bhutan is on my list too, wish to see it someday :)

Check my blog about Bhutan. It will make you decide a holiday faster. Bhutan is lovely. Just scroll through the pictures in my blog.
