VOTE RESPONSIBLY

I've been hearing this since ages, and the situation of the country hasn't changed. So many people urged us not to trade our PVC for cash. We were motivated to collect our voting cards and vote for the right candidate, and I've always asked myself who the right man was/is. I was part of the people that supported Buhari in the previous election and here we are. He wasn't the right man. Yet, he still had the effontery to run for a second term after betraying the trust we had in him. We were tired of having PDP rule us, so we thought a different party will do the job. Is it really difficult to make Nigeria a better place?

Today is another election day and I have absolutely no idea who to vote for. Who is the right man? Buhari that promised and fail? Atiku, who is coming from a party that has ruled us for years with nothing to show for it? Sowore, a human right activists with little or no experience of ruling?

Atiku is having a lot of fans and I'm still wondering why people are backing him. He has a lot of money to buy their trust I guess. This same man has been vice to Obasanjo; we've seen what he can and can't do. He doesn't have a clean record. Atiku was known for a lot of things, being a good ruler isn't part of them.

Buhari isn't ready to leave the seat. If I had the power, I would have chased him out. Many belived he isn't the one ruling. He's sick and he's probably a figure head. He came up with "change" during the last election. Many belived all he'd promised us. This page won't contain the things he promised, but he hasn't fulfilled one. This is a man that didn't believe in us or trust us. He traveled overseas when he was sick and left the affairs of the country to his vice. I'm sure Donald Trump won't leave his country for treatment in another country. Buhari is just a bad example of leadership.

Sowore is a human right activist like I said. Some might vote for him because of this. One thing is sure, he won't win. He's contesting with two powerful men; people that would do anything to win. He's the founder of Sahara reporters with no political history. He was the president of Student Union Government when he was in school - that's an experience I guess. There isn't much about him, all he did was talk and talk with little or no action. Being the president of this nation will give him a chance to carry out the actions I believe. But what are the chances of Sowore being the right man for us?

I hate politics. In fact, I don't like talking about it, but we are tired of recycling the same corrupt men. I'm not seeing a perfect candidate in these three. If I will be leaving my home to vote, the 48 years old human right activists might be my choice. I don't know who the right man is anymore, so I'm not voting. If you know who the right candidate is, I have only one thing to say to you; vote responsibly.

As for me, I'll be at home watching a TV Series.
