War. What is it good for?

Greetings Steemians,

What a start to the new year. I've been away from Steem/Social Media/News for the first week of the year and coming back I see a lot is going on in the world. This always happens when I take my eyes off things for a while, all hell seems to break loose.

Apparently there have been crazy fires in Australia this summer. I can imagine parts of Australia are just perfect for fires, much like parts of the United States were you can get vast forests and vegetation dry up completely. All it takes is someone tossing out an unextinguished cigarette, or the focusing of the sun light by the base of a broken bottle, and it's hell on earth.

I have some LiteCoin I bought on the way to buying Steem during the last dip. The price of LTC dipped even further and stayed 10% below the value I got it for, so I was kind of sitting on a mini loss. I had resisted moving it to Steem because I was sure the price would recover past the purchase price. I saw it as a guaranteed small win.

It wasn't to be so It's been sitting there as LTC for a fair bit.

In the light of the other global issue, Iran, it seems crypto is picking up a bit of steam. The military industrial complex is licking it's blood stained lips right now at the prospect of a war with Iran. Oh the arms they could sell. The money they could make.

Surely, crypto (especially BitCoin) HODLers must also be licking their preverbal lips right now. Surely those that bought in the worst point of the bear market, but also those looking to break back even. The way I see it, if official war breaks out, BitCoin is going to the moon, and very quickly indeed.

Don't think just Iranians are looking to store value. The Dollar would take a big hit too. See, the world is wary of wars and we sure as all heck don't want one now. I'm certain that some European countries and other traditional allies of the United States will sit this one out. I think the American rich know this, and they know gold alone won't cut it this time.

I hate war, and I hope it doesn't happen though.
