Steem is Starting to Become an Option

As many of you know, I turned 69 last September. I am still working for Calgary Transit driving bus. I have been trying to find a way to retire since I was about 62. Don't get me wrong. I love driving buses and transporting my passengers. There is something about sitting ahead of the front wheels which makes driving fun. I meet lots of pretty cool people, I have a ton of time to think about articles to write. It's pretty close to being retired, actually. The only problem I have if that it kills me to sit so long. The mind is willing but the body is hurting! Golden Years My Ass!

I have only worked for Transit 8 years, starting my 9th on Jan 7. I pay about 6,000 into a pension fund every year and Transit matches it.
It won't be enough to retire on. I have been collecting my CPP and OAS (Canada) which accounts for just over $1400/mo.
I invest $500/mo. in a growth fund that has a pretty good return and it is tied into an RRSP.

Then It Struck Me!

With the price of Steem going up I might be able to use this platform and retire. I would be able to spend more time writing articles! I am moving up slowly (58) and I have about a .50 voting power according to Steem Supply I have a lot of wonderful followers. It would also give me more time to leave comments and upvotes also. I am starting to make some money on my articles. As I live in Calgary a $1000 USD is worth about $1285 right now.(Thanks, my American Cousins!) So with my pensions I would only need to make $2500USD to $3000USD to pay for all my bills and for my wife and I to be comfortable. This Could Be Doable!
Of course I want to see how Steem keeps performing. I have resigned to the fact that for now I must keep working. But who knows where Steem will be in a year? I feel very optimistic about the growth of Steem. I think this is a great platform and has a great future. I see the blockchain is being used more and more for a variety of things. I think blockchain technology is our future. What a great time to be alive!
