Sequential run-through of a sunset (10 shots)

Sooo... how many shots do I take of a... ONE, sunset?

Depending how good, or how long drawn out a show Nature puts on....

Sometimes I take an embarrassingly huge number of shots (no, I'm not going to tell you! 😅) ~ just because it's an "Omgggggg....!!!" moment... or I try out various settings... or I fiddle with angles and different views...

Sometimes 3 shots, and it's all over!

That's why I have an abundant lot of folders and files in my archives! 😁

So... the following is a sequence of shots during ONE sunset ONE evening (almost exactly two years ago today) as an example of the variety of scenes I get (sometimes) during an evening's sunset!

Bear in mind, these are but 10... the actual number I took this particular evening was 52! 🙈

This entire sequence here took a duration of about 40 minutes...
38 minutes to be exact!
It's slightly more drawn out than normal...
Most times the 'drama' or the height of intense scenes last only about
10 mins!

Here, the sun has yet to set, and hovers just above the horizon
You see the city's icons, the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower, on each side of the sun
The 'show' is the display by the cloud patterns and sun rays thrown on said clouds...

Some minutes later and a zoom-in on the scene...
I love the texture of the clouds...
and I admit I sometimes don't post the subtle scenes as many don't seem to appreciate these... only wanting to see the intense showy scenes!

Slight change of colours...
and the clouds are settling a little, offering more of the blue sky into the scene, and some darkness is creeping in...

Zooming in on the city skyline
and the skyscrapers mentioned above,
the Petronas Twin Towers and the KL Tower, with a backdrop of the recently set sun with a light trail still above the horizon

Moody skies...
and smouldering embers of a sunset...
Don't go away yet, don't keep away your camera
the show is not over

The sky seems to brighten momentarily, with colours of the warm rays infiltrating parts of the sky...

It is officially dark now
Time is 7:38pm
Remnants of the sunset remain, but only at the horizon while the rest of the sky above is a clear pretty blue, with some darkened clouds still at play...

just to catch the fading warmth with dark wisps of clouds... and some night lights

This is as close as I can show you of what I see when the sun goes down here... from my home front window, my 'magic' window (as termed by friends!)
