Goodbye
it's been a long strange journey but in one way I am sort of relieved it's ending here, time for me to say good bye to #oldsteem and hello to #newsteem! Ha, how many of you did I get? Anyway wanted to take some time to quickly write a post about my current situation, I went on MSP waves tonight listening to the amazing @crimsonclad hosting her Full Force Radio Show which I recommend anyone to go and listen in, and it turns out a lot of people think that I am quitting Steem. Hmm, which is weird cause not many have even bothered asking what's up as I'm assuming it's due to them looking at my powerdown and instantly thinking I'm out of here. Oh well.
So to be a bit more open about what I've been doing with my powerdowns lately, many of you may know I've been powered up for the longest time and even was as naive as to think Steem can't drop any lower than $2 when I powered up about 20k SP in early 2018 and been a Steem shill ever since I've been a minnow and that has not changed. Why? Cause our blockchain is awesome. Steemit as much as we like to hate them have worked hard on keeping our blockchain amazing and preparing for mass adoption, so fucking bring it!
To keep it short, I'd be an idiot not to take the opportunity to trade in these markets, why would I trade? Well it's a lot faster than earning Steem and it brings in some Steem back from the markets. Sure it's a bit riskier but oh well, no risk no reward. There have also been some costs I've had to cover that caught me by surprise but nothing I can do about that other than trying to use my trading profits for them so I don't have to get rid of Steem (especially at these prices). Other than that there's a project that will be announced soon that I'm going to be one of the founders of, so keep an eye out for that. ;)
I'm probably going to keep my powerdown going for a bit longer, @ocdb is fully non-profit and I will have to help @anomadsoul feed it liquids so that it can pay out curation rewards to the delegators, we have some exciting changes for it for HF21 as well which I hope you guys will like. Other than that I'm buying stake in @ocd to liquidate the curators rewards so they don't have to wait 13 weeks for the powerdowns (why didn't we lower the full powerdown timer in this HF again? it's so annoying being this long).
So that's basically why I am powering down lately, I may realize it may have looked a bit bad at quick glance seeing the big powerdowns + not posting much lately but honestly I've just been super #busy. At the same time I'm preparing for HF21 so you don't have to read my mediocre posts as often as the new incentives will allow curators to earn more rewards without trying to post as much, but I still will every now and then cause it's something I've come to enjoy over the years and interacting with all of my followers. I am really looking to all the other changes of the HF and hoping many of you will make the most out of it to make Steem as fair and awesome as possible, I have a long list of good Steemians I'm gonna look out for that have deserved the curvy rewards. :)
I'm also really excited about Steem in general, so much going on lately dumping just to dump at these prices would be crazy.
Hope ya'll are doing well and everything goes well with the fork in the chain.
Is there a "feeling old Steem" section in #newsteem? Or is that Price still?
I haven't looked into steem.chat in forever, but damn times surely move weirdly on this blockchain. For us here daily it feels like it's been decades yet the blockchain is only 3 years old, what the hell. Guess being on Steem will give us longer lives.
Dogblocks. 3 seconds feels like 3 minutes.
Must admit that first few lines did get me anxious. I too have started powering down little by little just to take advantage of possible trading opportunities.
I do love @steem and @steemit and dont plan on leaving anytime soon.
It is a bit annoying having to plan your life 13 weeks in advance and really think that time frame should be reduced somewhat. I do like the idea of waiting though. But the current time frame is a tad much.
Please let us know what other exciting platforms and projects are around for us to get in on.
Glad you not going anywhere and best of luck with your endeavours.
A little before my time (in 2016) it was a 2 year powerdown cycle :D
True. I guess it really is not all that bad. And probably healthy for @steemit growth. Preventing spontaneous cash outs which sometimes may be irrational. So all in all it is good.

There is also the idea to allow people to powerdown near immediately. It would be interesting to see how volatile it makes it and, how many are left holding.
I dont think that is a good idea. Because often one tends to do things on the spur of the moment and then regret later. So I think there should be some kind of waiting period which is stoppable. That way you can change your mind. So maybe a 7-14day even 30 day waiting period. Just something less than 13 weeks.
I'm pretty much doing the same - powering down to eventually power up again - but I got really high hopes for Dtube and the DTC.. Anyways glad to see you're not leaving, I sure fell for it lol And thanks for the support! Steem on!
I feel you, with this high volitility comes a chance to really rake in some massive profits.
Just bitcoin alone buying and selling you could be hitting 10% upwards or 50% in the WEEK! and its not all to hard to watch and figure out.
It is hella faster then leaving your steem slowly collect interest or hoping for some upvotes and curation rewards. I still feel like we are in for more wild swings this week.
You seem to have a good plan.
I like new steem better and am glad to hear you are on board.
I guess you are testing the various dynamics of the hf21 changes. Looking forward to seeing what it all meams when it is put together. Exciting indeed!

Glad to hear your not going anywhere ^_^
I knew it! It was all an exit scam plot from you all this time! How could people not see it! It was THAT obvious!
I wonder who started the rumour haha
New steem. Mew didn't transform to mewtwo. It's a secret way to evolve. 😉
Thats a relief! I'm actually doing the same thing. I'm bummed that Steem hasn't risen a lot. But I hope to make profit and come back bigger. I still post daily. I feel like our community is too addicted to ever leave completely.
Glad to know that good souls like yourself will win big after Hf21. Dearly deserved it.
