Back in Roma 3 - Touring Comune Di Nemi
After gazing at baked pork and driving for a bit looking at the lake, we arrived at Nemi, the little town overlooking lake Nemi. We walked around, admired the old buildings, the colorful streets, the cold wind... the Christmas dioramas still displayed at churches... Lots of little strawberry vendors, these strawberries are the pride of the region, and the town has a yearly fragola festival. After 30 minutes of walking we get back to the "start" of the tour, where I decided to seat and wait for service at a cafe. big mistake. It took hours and it thrice the price (seriously). BUT, it gave me this awesome memory - drinking espresso overlooking a lake on a mountain. Or an inactive volcano? IDK. Maybe? Any Italy expert around (not me obviously)
I suppose I did take pictures of all I said above, the dioramas, the fragoals, the narrow streets... Take a look for yourself
Here are the famous tiny strawberries up for sale. They didn't seem all that good, admittedly this is not the season...

Nice, nativity diorama, my favorite thing!

Looking at the diorama was fun but we had to continue our tour of the town

Found a doggo. He only barked in Italian so I left him be

Oh look my favorite thing, some church, I wonder what will be on display...

Yay!! Another Nativity Diorama.

There is public access to water everywhere, Nemi not different, with this classy public fountain always flowing. Further down the street there is a machine with the same porpuse that fills up bottles with spring water or fizzy spring water. I didn't take picture of it, but I did take a bottle filled with water from there to our home in Rome.

Here we came across another pork specialty store. All store with name like Norcino or Norcineria are meant to signify that these are places that specialize in pig products, and that the owner originated from certain part of Italy where this art is popular.

These guys were in the prochetta business as well so it seem

In case you don't have local tour guide, the city got a sign that tells you all you need to know about the history of the town. If only you could see full resolution here...

This was it for the day, we were tired so we headed back to Rome, this time driving from the other side of the lake
Bonus - Cell site being all like "day 1509 - they don't suspect a thing":
This is all for this trip :) Hope you enjoyed the photographs, and if you visit Italy I highly recommend checking Nemi, or any one of the town around Roma.

Wow! Amazing photos! I love alpine strawberry tarts.
A lot of great shots here. I'll have to check out Nemi on my next trip. Venture out of the city a little.
