There are some people has posted and mentioned they have created duplicate when the intention was to edit/update. It has not happened to me so far and I have not duplicate post because I 90% confident that "Transaction Broadcast error" means posted. :-) Those who did not share the same confidence... I've seen multiple to more than a few posts. Most recently was @samstonehill in this post:

So, I was quite sure the trigger of the multiple post was the [Post] button when out comes "Transaction broadcast error" Bam! Now, #whysocurious me was wondering what trigger duplicate post when people were just editing. After I was back from the Justice League and ICYMI, it was fun here:

When I was writing in a haste to post (we all do that sometimes, right?), I have Edit/Update it thereafter. Even now. See?
Done with the update and I click [Update Post]. AFAIK, I never click [Post] so far when I wanted to edit a post. I suspect some of you who Edit/Update clicked [Post] instead AND that could have trigger the duplicate post. At the risk of bothering someone, I'll mention @timcliff who is one the witness I like to support because I think he may be able to offer some interesting thoughts on this. Of course, you are all welcome to offer your thoughts on whether this is a bug or a user problem? :-)
So, bug or not? What say you?

It is a know issue and the dev team is working on it.

Until it is resolved, if users get this error they should check and see if the transaction (post, comment, etc.) went through. If it did, the error can be ignored. If the transaction did not go through, it should be resubmitted. Note - most of the time when this error occurs, the transaction did still go through.
Thanks for coming by to put in your words. I kind of suspected it's known but I think many people has been hit and wonder what's happening and when it will be fixed. The week before it was 100% the error = posted. Last week, it's like about 90%. So, most of the time as you said seem to be in sycn with what I experienced.
This is undoubtedly a bug, surprisingly Steemit care enough to look into it.
So, you think when someone Edit, the [Post] button should not be there?
Well, I never click on the Post button during edit session. But I think the Post button should always mean for creating a new story/post.
Anyway, it's just a theory and I've tried it because I don't want to end up duplicate post but it's still probably good to not have the [Post] button there when in Edit mode.
Unless they decide to take down the Post button from the header, or have it renamed so people wont get confused.
........ Yes, as you know I have also had problems with this. Today I had the problem again but I check to see if it posted this time and It turned out it did ^_^
now I'm like 90% sure that message means posted.
Yeah, just got them twice on my two last post. I am proud to say that I check my blog before clicking post again. :)
Still it's just a theory. I am not totally sure if the [Post] trigger anything when in [Edit] mode.
Yeah, I know. Seems like they might hve fixed the bug now but I am still not sure.

Yay, Now I just need to balance my left.
Everytime I post I get the broadcast error but luckily I know it is just a bug.
sometimes I start wonder if it's the post confirmed message overwritten wrongly in some code 😎
there are many bugs keep finding :)
