Last #BeautifulSunday, I went to the Padang to see if catchbit of #SPOP which is singing competition which has gone into the final. Padang is the open field that has been there for more than a hundred years. It was almost never have been based on what I read from Wikipedia if not for Raffles, the man who founded Singapore. Anyway, it started to drizzle and I’m glad I’m take cover on this side which is the ground of Singapore Recreation Club which is a club with more than 100 years history. We cannot see the stage but we had shelter and a screen was screening live.
上个美丽星期天，我去了大草场想看看#SPOP。那是个歌唱比赛，已经进入决赛就在大草场举行。大草场已经存在这里超百多年了。根据我从维基百科读到的内容，如果不是因为发现新加坡的莱佛士，可能也没这大草场。无论如何，当天它开始下起毛毛雨。还好我在这边是新加坡娱乐俱乐部的地面，这是一个有100多年历史的俱乐部。 我们看不到舞台，但我们坐着不淋到雨的地方能看见正在进行现场直播的屏幕。

Last Sunday, even the contestants were singing in the rain (partly) literally. This open field was host to many important events. Many National Day Parades where held including the one in 2015 where we celebrate our Golden Jubilee. I heard next year as part of the celebration of 200 years of founding by Raffles, the parade will be there again. There are couple of times I was there doing volunteer work for out Car Free Sunday events. In recent years, this field is where the concerts were held during the F1 race seasons. The building on the right is what used to be the City Hall, then Supreme Court and now the National Gallery which houses many arts exhibits.
上个星期天，即使是参赛者也在雨中（有部分）唱歌。 在这个大草场里举行了很多重要的活动。 有过许多国庆日庆典，其中包括2015年我们庆祝金禧年的。我听说明年是莱佛士发现新加坡的200周年庆祝活动而明年的国庆庆典也将再次在那里。 有几次我在那里为无车星期天的活动做义工。 近年来，这个地方也是第一方程式车赛举办音乐会的地方。右边的建筑曾经是政府大厦，然后是最高法院，现在是国家美术馆，里面有许多艺术展品。
