Will be watching this with the kids soon. Thanks for the review. Grew up watching Disney cartoons and lion king is one of my favorites. Wouldn't expect too much from can you feel the love tonight scene though.

I've heard mixed reviews, including yours, but I'm sure my kids will want to see it. I'm a bit concerned about all these remakes and sequels. I guess most of the good stuff is now on streaming. Things like Stranger Things would be hard to do as a two hour movie.
It's good, but if you haven't seen Allidin watch that first, much better.

Just looks too real to me, idk if I could get into it. I've seen the trailers and some clips but the real talking animals are so odd! But I bet the music was great with Donald Glover.
I found the save issue with the realism, it works in cartoons with mostly human characters. I wonder how Little Mermaid will work out since it is a real mix?
The music was definitely the best part. However only a few months ago I watched the live theatre version and although main vocals are better, you cannot compare it with real chorus and orchestra. Also the cinema I went to seemed to have sub par sound. Maybe it's better in imax.

I have seen some clips of this it is quite breathtaking what they have done with this remake. I’m glad it was nothing like that sonic the hedgehog they had to go and remake parts off—yuck!
It’s great to hear they did not mess with it too much.
I prefer to never watch the remake of Alladin after seeing some clips from it. The older version from my childhood is good enough. I still have it somewhere on VHS! Now I have something that plays it now a day? I doubt.
