If that chipmunk ever escaped you'd never get it back, unless you had a cat! Those little guys are fast.

I don't support any petstore that is selling threatened or endangered species to random people. Even some house cats require experienced owners. Crypticat is an easy pet to care for.

I imagine the idea is to not have the things escape, but if they are raised as pets they probably get docile and stupid like hamsters.

Very nice frog. We have many around our house due to the container ponds in our front and back yards, but none as beautiful as that.

I think having a container pond in the front and back is great. Just make sure you attract the right critters so there are no mosquitoes breeding in there, frogs are a good one.

This guy is just a fairly common green tree frog. he likes to live where rice crops grow generally.

I never had the bravery to take a frog just as you did it xD ... It would had been awesome if they had the artic fox there. It's legal in Korea have foxes as pets?

Animal protection laws are pretty weak here. They eat whales and dogs and you can have many pets as long as they aren't dangerous. They have coffee shops with all kinds of zoo animals.

The frog is harmless. I was surprized she didn't jump. I guess it was a little cold that day and my hand is warm.

Aaawww she was searching your warm :3 ....and.... YOU CAN EAT WHALES!?!!! :00000 That shook me !! That's so sad D: poor animals

You can never really trust a website's photo gallery as they would do everything they can to make it look like paradise for the animals. When in reality, as you saw, it's not.

Your frog does look beautiful though, lovely colours! Well done on the curation as well!

I should have know from reading the comment section.

The worst part is most people walking in have no clue how bad it is for the animals. They just see many cute animals.

Yea there's definitely an element of "rose tinted glasses" with it all isn't there?

This pet store is so sad...you are right most of these animals are in the wild, and should be! Glad you decided to pass on buying anything, I don't think many of them would survive too long in a cage, yikes. We have had pet stores hit by hurricanes in our area, now many of the animals released have become invasive and are consuming native wildlife. It's crazy!

I rarely buy anything from pet shops. It just encourages them. Sadly it's really common in Asia for random people to buy pets. It's hard not to think of the ethical issues when seeing it.
There are so many things wrong with keeping exotic animals and non-native species.

Arctic fox and albino racoons? I wish you snapped some photos I wan to see. A very interesting pet shop but is it......legal? Would be cool to have an arctic fox as a pet. Are they caught from the wild or raised in captivity? I'm asking too much questions lol. I love animals and watch a lot of animal tv docu series. But with frogs I have some sort of a phobia which I cannot trace back.

Unfortunately, the arctic foxes and albino raccoons were special order only on the website. There were none at the shop much to my disappointment and the website was a little misleading. Personally, I prefer zoos and especially natural conservation areas. I also, like watching the nature channel and videos of animals. Their cameras make me jealous though.
I'm sorry to hear you have a frog phobia.

I actually like aquariums for tropical fish, and just today read that one can actually keep African dwarf frogs in aquariums, I did not go into details, but I suppose one will have to provide some dry land for them inside the aquarium.
Nice post.

I have the clawed one, the other guy isn't allowed here. Neither of them leave the water. I tested with my guy by making him a beach. He will climb about half way out at most. They only leave if they are very uncomfortable. It happened once when I had him in a small bucket for heavy cleaning. He jumped out and crawled into the corner of the room. I just hand a few places he can hold onto above tge surface now.

A trip to a pet store is an interesting activity)) My daughter constantly hangs in cages with hamsters when we go there for catfood))

Kids love thise little things, but they aren't really good pets.

Here the small local pet stores have fallen by the wayside to the large chain stores.

I guess that means more variety when it comes to accessories in stock and less abuse because more people, especially jaded employees, are watching.
Ive noted in most of North America that is the case. Even here its rare to find dogs and cats being sold because it just attracts protests if they aren't very ethical about it.
