Notes from The Cwtch Bar

Well the Spanish summer is back after a week of storms, and the beach is jam-packed full of lobster coloured people again. However, I'm currently at 'work', although most of the time it doesn't feel that way.

From the outside seats at the bar, which a currently free along with every other seat in the place, I can see the ocean. And the above photo is taken from the bottom of this road.

It's a beautiful afternoon, and the boss has called me in so that she can have a few hours at the beach. The bar is closed on Wednesdays, but it shat it down for much of the day yesterday and so I think she deserves some time off in the sun. 6 days a week, and up to 16 hours a day for her. That's a long shift, and not for me at all, but as it's her first season, she's putting the time in to get a feel for the place.

At present, the harsh reality is that the place isn't busy enough to hire staff for long shifts, even at my lowly pay grade. I currently have two customers, my mothers partner and a friend from the other bar nearby. Neither would be here if I wasn't, and the bar would be empty.

The saving grace for The Cwtch, is that it will remain open for the winter. Pretty much all the hotels are shut, and the same is true for many of the bars. For the locals and the ex-pats, the watering-holes are reduced, and business could pick up here.

If so, and if crypto doesn't start to rise, there is a good chance I'll want some of these shifts. That's if I haven't gotten bored of Cala Millor and bar work. It's very quiet here out of season, but the bar could entertain me enough, along with daily Steem time of course.

And one more piece of good news, @fulltimegeek is going to be a witness! I hope and suspect he will be a popular choice. One of the most selfless people on Steem, and he's also a coder, which is appreciated amongst the witness ranks. He will certainly have my vote when his setup is ready.

I suppose I should find something work related to do. There are some glasses that could do with a polish, let's hope I get fill them with beer very soon.
