My Very Own First Car Journey
Everyone has their first in everything in their life, be it the first book, the first travel, the first kiss and etc; well today I'm going to talk about my car. She's might not be the most powerful, luxury or beautiful car on the road but she is in my eye, and I'm proud of her. She was given a name called City by Honda Malaysia since she's a family sedan car.
She was born at Honda Malaysia manufacturing plant located in Pegoh, Malacca and was sent to Sri Utama Honda Sdn Bhd in Setapak upon my booking. With the given 5 choices of colour between Taffeta White, Modern Steel, Alabaster Silver, Crystal Black Pearl and Brilliant Sports Blue, I have opted for Blue since there's hardly blue coloured car on the road and it's easier to be spotted from the crowd.
She's powered by a improved 1.5 litre SOHC i-VTEC engine making 120 PS at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm, and paired with Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Although is not a huge figure by paper, it still serve the purpose of driving me from A to B.
During the time period, I was still a newbie towards cars and knew not much about the internal parts nor the external parts of the car 😅. I've been maintaining her completely stock in the first year, no modification and add-ons until I join in a car club. What's a car club you might ask? A car club is a group of people gathering and forming a community of the same or mixed car, sharing knowledge and poisoning each other with modification.
At first, I was immune to their poison for the first few months of joining in but things happened that night. I was involved in an accident (not a major), getting knocked by a 10 tons lorry trailer over the rear side of my car; I was angry and sad at that moment of time but luckily no one get hurts. After settling the accident, I have to send her into the workshop for a month to undergo repairs and repaint.
During the time when she was at workshop, I was counting the days down at home and doing some research on the add-ons modification that can help me improve my driving skill and the overall dynamic of the car. Day passes in a blink of eye and I got a call from the workshop, letting me know that she has recovered completely and waste no time, I booked an Uber down to the workshop.
After she came out, I brought her through my poison frenzy and getting her first add-on modification. I got to come into this chassis tuning vehicle bar that has been quite popular among the car industry market and decided to give it a try, given the review by a bunch of car members is positive.
The brand of this add-ons is called Ultra Racing, I've opted for the Stage 1 as recommended by fellow members that it will improve the car handling by increase the rigid of the chassis and reduce the body roll. Stage 1 consist of 2 piece of bars namely, Front Strut Bar and Rear Anti Roll Bar which cost about RM 650 promotion price for car club.
Hopping on different jobs for a few month, landed me to become a Sales Executive at tyre shop named, King of Rims. As the name called, is a heaven for people who wants to change their shoes (rim) for their cars; and when I say heaven is hard to resist when I work at there, everyone is coming in everyday to change their rims. I got my first pair of rim changes after 5 months of working with the company, and it changes the perspective looks of your car in a snap.
Beside modification, there's always hang out with the other car members for gathering or photo shooting nonetheless, I meet a lot of new friends along the way and know lots of things about cars and gain knowledge on the driving experiences as well.
Slowly over the time, when a lot of people is within a community, there's a bound to be some political game within the community which makes me moving away from the car club and find my own group of friends to hang around with and drive out together. Few months ago, I was invited to a group while reading through forums and from here, it continue my car journey to the next level. Some of the member I met which is on SteemIt are @dxn and @jimbolicious.
Overall up until now, we been spending good time together, going out explore places we never been before and having fun drive through the mountain pass in the early morning. Although is just an ordinary car, but is the car that has been there done that together with me all along. Looking forward for more upgrades and modification on her, stay tuned for more updates about her
