5G and TIOT
Cellular networks have evolved in communication nearly every decade.The first generation(1G) brought us analog voice, 2G enabled text/mms messaging, 3G brung our devices online and 4G is our current network that we use today.
However the ever expanding amount of devices connecting on 4G will in time decrease the bandwidth speeds due to the radio frequency they all run on.
This is where 5G comes in..
5G network will provide extra bandwidth to connect thousands of sensors and beacons to The internet of things(TIOT)
There are many benefits of the 5G network, Samsung set speed records at 7.5gbps which is amazingly fast and quick enough to download a HD movie in a second.
Smartphones will also be updated to support the network and handsets will have a longer battery life, so browsing the web or live-streaming an event will be more efficient without the need for the midday charge or portable battery packs.
Although a huge amount of equipment is needed for the roll out of 5G, the network will have a larger bandwidth with a higher RF signal at a shorter range, and this is just one of the concerns citizens have due to the affect it may have on our health.
A retired EPA employee spoke of his concerns at his local town meeting regarding 5G in which he asked members of the council to listen to the worries of the citizens and to act upon them.
There were many others who raised the question about the health and safety of local residents.

The US FCC approved spectrum for 5G including the 28ghz, 37ghz and 39ghz bands last year and the EU has committed €700bn for research and development into 5G for commercial use by 2020.
Test beds and trials are taking place worldwide as network providers visualise the best locations for radio antenna for better coverage and faster network speeds.
