Just putting it out there, but... there's actual libertarian candidates who will be there.

I know they're unheard of nobodies who are easy to overlook, but, you know... it's kinda their convention, yeah?

The convention is over a weekend, and the top of the ticket will be chosen that Saturday, I think. It's not unworkable. Hell, the very first thing the chosen candidate did being this would really be starting a campaign off with a bang right out the gate. Failing a candidate being chosen beforehand, I'm sure the LP could say, "hey, Spike Cohen could we borrow you on Friday night?" Or Dave Smith, or whoever. They've got people that could be a stand in for the libertarian perspective. I guess you could get that a little bit from a libertarian moderator focusing on libertarian concerns or something, or even questions posed by delegates...

It just feels like actual Libertarians are allowing themselves to be pushed aside at their own event for things that will benefit their competition more than them.

I chose not to be a delegate this time around for money and time considerations, but I'd absolutely attend Trump's thing Friday night if I was there and if he agreed to debate RFK I'd happily attend that too. And there's potential upsides for all the increased media coverage.

It just feels less like an indication that the LP has become so relevant Trump wants to pitch to them, and more like the LP is imploding and Trump wants to take advantage of it becoming even more irrelevant by picking up some of those already fleeing or on the edge of jumping ship.
